| I remember not even considering there being another option, or being annoyed with staying in the same hotel room as my parents until I was around 16-17. Just curious if you get separate/adjoining rooms for your teens? We have only one, but I’m wondering if it would be worth the money for the comfort of everyone? |
| Nope. Two double beds. |
| Not as a rule. We try to get a suite (with a pullout or murphy bed) when possible, plus two double beds. |
| I'd love to, but too much $ |
| Heck no! My kids are 18 & 23, and I still get one room for the three of us. |
This is actually why we starting staying at arirbnb or vrbo houses a lot more often. Giving up the amenities of a hotel is usually worth it to be able to give everyone more privacy and space. |
|
nope. we have two teens and we normally get family suites. we mostly stay at hotels that can accommodate that for us. Or it is adjoining rooms with door open between us.

For a night or two? No, never.
For vacations we've only done AirBnB's for the last five or six years so that over the course of multiple days we all have space to relax and spread out. |
|
Separate rooms (prefer adjoining but don’t require) unless it’s a one night, get there late & leave early situation. Nice to have an extra bathroom and privacy for DH and me on vacation.
Not a fan of Airbnbs as we like hotel amenities and hotels also tend to be more conveniently located to where we want to be. |
| Yes. We do. Have a 14yp. |
|
We try to get a one-bedroom suite with a separate seating area that has a pull out sofa - when we can afford to. We NEVER book adjourning rooms simply because its too expensive - and at some of the resorts we stay at, would literally double the cost of the lodging.
Vacations are so much more expensive now too. |
| Yes, I have 3 kids and have been putting them in a room together since the oldest was @12. Typically adjoining but not always. Always at least on the same floor. |
| No. For trips more than a night, we exclusively stay in AirBnb/VRBO type places with a minimum of 2 bed/2 bath. Getting two rooms at a hotel is prohibitively expensive. |
|
I only have one kid but no. We usually get a King room with pullout sofa for her.
She’s not getting her own room until she wants to pay for it herself. |
| Not in a regular hotel. But on a cruise, I do. The rooms are so small that it’s hard when all of us are in one room. |
