I guess Desantis doesn't want future FL psych majors to understand sexuality and gender issues. Keep Florida Stupid should be his motto.
Where are the folks who insisted that Desantis only wanted to keep DEI topics out for K-3? Slippery slope, people. |
| "Florida" does not want to do anything. Are you not able to differentiate between "Florida" which is a state of about 22 million people, about 5 million who are registered Republicans and about 9 million are either registered as Democrats, other minority parties or No Party affiliation, and the idiot governor Ron DeSantis? He wants to do a lot of stupid things in his desperate quest to pander to his ever dwindling base, but "Florida" does not collectively want to do any one thing. |
eh.. you get what you voted for. |
No I definitely did not get what I voted for and neither did many millions of other Florida residents. |
And yet, millions of Florida residents overwhelmingly elected DeSantis and are quite happy with the results. You don't always get to win.

| At the rate Florida is going, pretty soon Florida schools will be teaching unigender, that being that any discussion of sex or gender whatsoever is woke and apparently everyone is KenDoll'ed between the legs. |
collectively, FL got what it voted for. |
How do you know that people are "quite happy with the results"? DeeeeeeSantis isn't even IN Florida anymore - and he's looking like more and more of a crackpot loser with every passing day. Even the people who voted for him - and I am NOT one of them - are starting to see his culture war shII as a waste of time and money. Meanwhile, as our most active hurricane month approaches, he's telling people to pray because he and his cronies in the legislature sure haven't figured out how to fix the broken property insurance system. |
Since most of us here don't live in FL, what news source is reporting how unhappy people are with Desantis? Quick google search: https://floridapolitics.com/archives/622494-florida-voters-still-like-ron-desantis-as-governor-and-side-with-him-over-disney/
Based on that, seems most Floridians still like him. |
What makes you say that most Floridians still like him, without any public opinion polling telling you that? Just, that's your guess so you'll state it like it's true? https://theamericanonews.com/floricua/2023/05/19/most-floridians-disapprove-of-states-direction-desantis-approval-rating-drops-by-19-points-in-new-poll/ ^ This is from a while ago but he hasn't done a thing since to make himself MORE popular here And you can see from the fact that Florida representatives have been mostly endorsing Trump instead of him that he isn't some wildly popular guy here https://www.nationalreview.com/news/nearly-a-dozen-florida-republicans-have-endorsed-trump-snubbing-desantis/ I think his moment is over - and no one likes a loser. |
DeSantis is no longer a one off in Florida, imo (not the person you're responding to). Sorry. If what you say is true about the numbers, then you all should be able to do something about it. And yet . . . |
? I posted a poll. It's not my "opinion" or wishful thinking. 1. the poll I linked is newer (July) than your poll (May) 2. Your other poll is about Trump vs Desantis, not about how people view him as their governor. So, based on the poll I linked from July, yes, most Floridians still approve of him. https://floridapolitics.com/archives/622494-florida-voters-still-like-ron-desantis-as-governor-and-side-with-him-over-disney/ |
| I feel bad for the 29,000 students who take this course annually who may lose the opportunity for college credit or exposure to a needed professional field. |
Same. Expose your children to more knowledge and education, not less. How are these Florida students not at a disadvantage compared to students that have the opportunity to take the full courses, read the banned books, learn the unvarnished version of American history, etc.? |
And their kids are probably not smart enough to be placed in an AP class, so this has no effect on their college careers. DeSantis plans to cut the throats of federal government employees. I’m really offended by his violent rhetoric. I don’t work for any government entity. We don’t need violent leaders. He turned my stomach with that. |
