You go to the farm stand today with no plan for dinner. You can only use items you buy there and kitchen staples.
What are you making? |
|
Tomato basil fresh mozzarella salad
Omelet with whatever veg looks good Peach cobbler |
This is an excellent menu! Well done!

My favorite local farm grows vegetables and lavender, but they also steam crabs. So mine would be:
Steamed crabs Corn on the cob Lavender lemonade Key lime pie |
|
Assuming you have chicken thighs in the freezer, the NYT just published a recipe for sheet pan chicken with fresh corn that was delicious. Leftovers made for a great salad with mixed greens and cherry tomatoes.
And +1 for the peach cobbler. I had an amazing one last week. Food this time of year makes me so freaking happy! |
What time do we eat?!
|
| Where is the farm stand ? I’d love one nearby! |
|
Some thoughts…
Broccoli rabe and sausage with panzanella on the side Ratatouille over brown rice Fritatta with tomatoes, spinach, broccoli, cheese |
| Not a meal but gazpacho. Obviously. |
| My far stand has crab cakes and local ice cream. So I am no help. And I try not to go there too much because that stuff is too tempting. Just getting what’s in season now would be something with peaches 🍑 and a tomato dish |
Likewise. Farmer's market, sure, but I don't know of a farm stand in the city. |
|
Here’s a whole day’s worth:
Breakfast-Half a toasted Everything bagel with cream cheese, a thick salted, peppered slice of tomato, and some slivered onion. Lunch-Gazpacho and a BLT. Dinner-Grilled chicken thighs, pasta with Sungold tomato sauce, sautéed zucchini with garlic and Italian parsley. Dessert-Warm peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream |
Ooh, good one. I never think of this. |
|
Cucumber gazpacho with mint
Caprese Arugula and mixed greens with a lemon-herb dressing, topped with two fried eggs and fresh croutons or crostini from the amazing baguettes they sell at the one we go to. Rest of the baguette simply warmed with butter on the side. Grilled peaches with vanilla ice cream |
Out of the city. Check out Anne Arundel or Calvert counties on the MD side. |
