President Biden acknowledged 4 year old granddaughter

"You have to remember there were some fairly contentious legal proceedings between Navy’s parents happening until just a few weeks ago. As grandparents, the Bidens are following Hunter’s lead," the source says, adding, "They are — and have been — giving Hunter and Lunden the space and time to figure things out." Hmmm. Hunter denied paternity, and stonewalled court proceedings to determine paternity and arrange support and medical insurance for his child. Joe should have taken the lead and told Hunter to get the issue resolved. The statement today seems politically motivated. Of course legal proceedings were contentious- your son was trying to dodge responsibility. As grandparents, you should have been supportive of your innocent granddaughter through this process. |

Hunter has never met his own daughter. Biden hasn’t laid out plans to welcome her to either the WH or the Biden family home in Delaware to meet/get to know her. |

| Good for him! I can imagine staying out of the fray while the legal mess was ongoing but publicly disowning a toddler seemed absolutely cruel. I’m glad he changed course (and think Maureen Dowd’s column probably had a lot to do with it) |

That’s so odd. Why would Hunter not want his daughter to have his name? All his other kids do? That will make the daughter feel extremely rejected and “second best” when she gets older. Cruel! |

I don’t think he needs to say any of that, and I was very critical of his “six grandchildren” position. It may not be in this little girls best interest to deal with the media circus that would surround her visiting the White House. It may be more sensible for her to meet them when they’re out of office or after 2025. That’s ok and it’s not up to us to decide, it’s up to her parents and grandparents. |

More proof that Uncle Joe is a decent and kind human being. He shows his tender family-oriented side by bringing this young child into the fold, and surrounding her with kindness and acceptance.
We should be thankful to have this beacon of morality leading the country. He is a true leader both in his personal life, and as a public figure. I look forward to his second term. |
