| I wake up three times per night to pee. It is seriously interrupting my sleep. At this point I just wake up automatically and wonder...should I go or not...then finally just need to get up because I'll ruminate on it. I don't know if bladder training would help or what (where would I find that). It is like clockwork at the same time almost down to the minute every night, even if I restrict liquids before bedtime. I can make it through the day more or less fine. I do not get it since I avoid liquid after 7pm. What the hell is even in there? |

If I exercise in the evening I sometimes sleep through the night. Otherwise I am right there with you—awake a few times a night to pee. |

Yoga and pelvic floor exercise.
Magnesium supplement at night. A strict diabetic diet and monitoring blood sugar. IF and plant based whole food, minimally processed food. Being well hydrated. Estrogen cream once in 3 days. |
| Vaginal estrogen. Look up Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause. It can help prevent UTIs, overactive bladder, etc. |

I front load my hydration and try to not eat or drink much after 8pm (with going to bed between 10:30-11). I was peeing 5 times a night. This has really helped and now I am down to 1 to 0 times per night.
I drink a lot of water, about a gallon a day, which apparently was the problem. |

Local (non-systemic) Estradiol cream. The cream comes with an applicator. People are typically directed to use the applicator, so the estradiol is deposited inside the vagina. Depending on symptoms, and this would be one of them, providers may also direct you to apply a small amount directly on the vulva with your fingertip, including inside the inner labia and on/around the urethra.
I used to wake up 3-5 times a night to pee. I am only up once a night now. It takes some time to work. I’ve been using it for about two and a half months now. I can’t remember when I stopped getting up so often, but it’s been at least three weeks. There are alternative local estradiol options, a tablet suppository and a ring that fits up on the cervix, for example. But the cream is a good place to start since you can apply it directly to the urethra. |

With the magnesium suggestion, I realized for me I need to take magnesium glycinate.
I think straight magnesium + stress gave me an ulcer. No issues with the glycinate one (and still have stress). |

Hrt- started estrogen patch plus progesterone pills in March.
For the previous three years I had consistently interrupted sleep- waking up to pee, waking up drenched in sweat, waking up at 2 or 3 am to worry or just to wake up and not being able to fall asleep for hours.some nights it was- wake up at 12 am drenched in sweat, wake up at 1:30 to pee, wake up at 4 am and not be able to go back to sleep. I now sleep like a baby. If I drink a lot of liquids I wake up once to pee, but then fall right back to sleep. |
