In the summer?
I feel like mine would sleep in all day if I allowed it. She’s otherwise helpful around the house the rest of the day and does chores plus she studies. We are having a bit of a lazy summer with no camp this year due to some other obligations. Just curious when your kid gets up. |
| 11am |
| 8ish. Normal wake-up time for school and camps is 7-7:30. |
| I have one that "sleeps in" until 7am since it is summer. He gets up at 6am for school on his own daily. His brother will sleep all day if we let him. We wake him up at 9am. |
| She would sleep til noon if she could but I wake her by 9.30am usually. |
| 13 DD, if left undisturbed, is up by 9. Usually 8:30. I think she smells breakfast cooking! |
+1 |
| When they have no morning activities planned, usually between 9-10. |
| mine had to be woken up at noon today. |
| If nothing is going on, my 12 yo and older teen usually wake up between 10 and 11. I don’t wake them. |
| An hour before having to leave for camp. |
| Depends on how much noise I decide to make in the morning. Pretty much when I want them too. |
This. It’s so peaceful in the AM. It’s summer! I remember my mother would call me on her lunch break at 1pm in the summers. I’d set my alarm to 12:55 to “prepare my voice” and sound like I’d been awake. I’d do my chores about 15 minutes before she got home (I’m still that efficient if company is coming unexpectedly!) and the rest of the time I would watch Days of Our Lives and do nothing. I had three blissful summers like this before I got a job at 15. I’m happy to report that I’m a punctual, gainfully employed adult despite this teenage laziness. |

Anywhere between 8:30 and 11. I'm thrilled he's catching up on sleep after the crazy early wake up time for the 6:40 middle school bus. I enforce bedtime more than wakeup time. I want him asleep no later than 11 in the summer.
School year he's in bed by 9:15 and up at 5:45. |
