| DS asked me to "ask the DC ladies" if NYU Stern is better than Columbia these days. |
For undergrad? About the same. |
Yes, undergrad. |
| slight edge to NYU - and i’m a college recruiter / hiring manager in NYC |
I’m the first PP and I’d agree that NYU Stern is a little better for finance, consulting and other selective fields. |
Definitely Stern these days for finance, consulting etc. Students at Columbia will be nicer though. It's a very low bar, but still. |

| NYU |

If he knows he wants business, that is one thing.
I am not a recruiter, but generally (outside of specific fields I defer to others) if I saw Columbia or NYU, I'd be more impressed by Columbia. |
30% of them are GS |
Assuming that this is regarding undergraduate--not MBA--school, NYU Stern is better for one seeking a career in finance, consulting, or just about any other business specialty. |

This is so surprising to me. Back in the day, the elite ws firms preferred ivy to anyone else.
How did nyu pull this off? I am genuinely curious. Are they providing a more useful, relevant, or rigorous education? Do they provide better networking events? What have they done? |

Here is another example where per capita data is semi-worthless. Michigan is #4 on this list but virtually all of its students chosen come from the Ross School of Business. Ross has 1400 undergraduates. Michigan, as a whole has over 32K. |
NYU itself has risen a lot (#25 vs #18 Columbia), but NYU Stern has been very strong in the industry. One of the top programs. |
