If you don’t use housekeeping do you still tip?

We always stay on Do Not Disturb especially if it’s only a 2 or 3 night visit. Should we still tip when we check out and if so how much?

Oh wait, yes you still tip when you check out. I usually give a 5 or 10, depending how much cash I have on me.

Yes cuz they still have to clean up after you. But it’s a one-time tip and not a daily tip.

^^ oh and I also leave $5-10

No I don’t
After I check out they can’t use my toothbrush to clean the toilet so why would I bother

Yes, I tip about ten bucks for a stay of a night or two even if I don’t use housekeeping. Housekeeping is a hard job, which I’m sure doesn’t pay well. If my room is clean when I arrive, it’s appreciated. Leaving a small tip is the least I can do.

Yes, I leave a tip at checkout. They are still cleaning up after you and often we are leaving more trash and mess than if they came in daily.

I wish there was a cashless way to tip housekeeping staff.

Do you tip cash?

We use housekeeping AND don't tip. There was a LONG thread about this very recently. Hotel prices are through the roof.

Yes, hotel prices are high, but I’m pretty sure all that money isn’t going to housekeepers.

We stayed 1 night and left a fiver. These people are working their butts off at a job with fewer and fewer staff to help them. It truly sucks. And a 1-night turnover is probably sucky.
