I am looking to do some renting in this heat! Thanks (for grown ups) I tend to like romantic comedies, drama, and foreign or somewhat off beat films. Thanks for your input! |
Lives of Others is a great one |
Beaches |
Juno, Steel Magnolias, Dead Poet's Society, Mean Girls...also, I loved the old Esther Williams movies when I was little and I want to watch them again. |
Gone with the wind, prob has to do with the fact it's also one of my favorite books |
You and Me and Everyone We Know. |
"How to loose a guy in ten days"
This is a VERY cute movie. |
If you like foreign and off-beat, have you seen Amelie?
Also try the French movie A La Mode. Super cute. I must strenuously disagree with How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days... thought it was predictable and not-funny. But in the same genre, I sort of enjoyed The Proposal. I think Ryan Reynolds is dreamy. |
Away We Go |
Moonstruck. I've seen it a million times and I'll still stop and watch it if I come across it on TV.
Cousins. It's a little dated, but still very cute. |
Crossing Delancy.
It's charming and romantic. |
Withnail and I |
"Love Actually." I've seen it at least a dozen times and recently had my parents watch it - they absolutely loved it. (there is nudity and some cursing, fyi, so it's not terribly suitable for children.) |
The Goodbye Girl is a great 70s romcom. Very funny and well written... in fact, I think Neil Simon wrote it... |
Casablanca |
