Yes we are based out of Loudoun and home field is Hanson. It would obviously be an unreasonable commute to Springfield. So if that's really what's happening, I want to know now so we don't miss tryouts at other clubs.

I heard GMU.

GMU field rentals are a LOT more expensive than getting county field space. Like $100/hour.

TSJ field hockey practices at GMU. Is it absurdly expensive?

How do you have tryouts if you don't have a team or a coach....

The strangest thing is that the tryouts were for ages 2010-2012 boys on Wed are literally at the same time as their 2011-2012 team practice in Loudoun County. So the kids on the actual team in that age range won't be at the tryout,

I don't imagine there is much trying out for these teams. Considering they are having to combine age groups in order to have enough players for a team. They will take just about anyone. The bigger problem is keeping the existing players because you don't know what the teams will look like next season, will there be enough to form teams at an age group. Will your kid need to play up a year or two just to fill rosters?

Do they tell people their kid will be combined with younger players? That is bad deal for the older players. They aren't competitive in games and they aren't getting good comp in practice.

This year they did not tell us it would be combined teams until after everyone committed at least on the girl's side.

VRSC does that all the time or announce a coach that doesnt end up coaching during the season.

No idea. No one has said anything. Based on numbers at open tryouts there should be enough kids to roster those age groups.

Did anyone go to the St James tryouts last night for this age group? Just curious/nosy.
