Thank you so much for keeping the kids at school!

But now Ryan McElveen has nothing to run on. All he did was tweet snow day announcements to high schoolers.

I mean, there wasn't much snow this year, so, yeah? I guess that's a victory of sorts?

When has the lack of snow ever stopped FCPS from calling a snow day?

It was t even in the forecast, that’s the difference. We got some flurries on a weekend afternoon.

Those that think it has to do with Reid are just stupid.

Hello, did someone forget remote education because of COVID? There should never be another snow day. Just a remote learning day if snow creates unsafe driving conditions.

The real question is, is Dr. Reid’s school system prepared to pivot to remote learning when it snows.

Nobody wants to pivot to remote learning on a snow day.

Please don’t make my 6 year old do “remote learning”. Didn’t we already learn what a disaster that was.

There’s still one more week.

That's a dumb talking point. Sometimes the forecast doesn't exactly pan out, but that's not FCPS's fault.

The only time I've been annoyed at a school cancellation is when it is several days after a storm and they are still closing school because the sidewalks are "slippery".

You have a 6 yo, so no you don't know anything.

So Dr. Reid's biggest accomplishment is not having a snow day in her first year on the job?

This winter was unseasonably warm. It didn’t snow. There was no ice storm. This has nothing to do with Reid. I vote this a dumb thread.

Anything to get rid of your kids. I’m so embarrassed for you.
