325$ for partial highlights and haircut

Anonymous
$325 before tip, so around $375 out the door.

Does this seem high to you for the dmv area? I mentioned it to a friend who can get out the door with tip and everything for a cut and partial highlights for less than $200.

I like my stylist but … it seems high I guess, now that my friend said what she pays!

Please tell me you tipped more than that

I’m bad at math- whatever 15% is of 325

Anyone else chime in on if that’s the going rate?

Normal - I pay $360 + tip for balayage and cut.

That's a lot!!!

I think mine is around $300 - $200 for highlights and $100 for cut. Haven't done highlights since fall so it's probably gone up since then.

You should tip 20%.

Slightly high but not crazy. I’m around $250

Normal- my cut is about $125 and then baylage partial and maybe a gloss or treatment for dry hair and it adds up. I only go about every 5-6 months though…haven’t been since January and I’ll wait until later June to go again and then holidays and so forth…

I just paid $450 for partial bayalage and no cut….with tip it was $540! My stylist is great but it’s getting too expensive!

My DD was conned into paying $550 so this sounds palatable.

Your tip was fine. Why are we now guilt-tripped into tip creep? Actually at higher prices like that for services, I tend not to tip at all.

A $90 tip? A tip should not be based on price
