So much confusing info online. What is the best carb/protein/fat macro breakdown?

Have a lot of weight to lose - down about 30 pounds but need to lose another 75ish.

This Percentage of calories worked for me

30% carb
30% protein
40% fat

Also, metformin helped me immensely. It lowered my weight setpoint so that I lost the 10 pounds that I needed to lose with not much effort. Consideration of met Forman for the prevention of diabetes in people with prediabetes is a standard of care according to the American diabetes association.

Unfortunately my mom has kidney failure and they said one of the contributing causes was the use of metformin. So I am staying far away.

But thank you for the percentages!

That’s interesting- I thought recent studies have shown that metformin and CKD were more of a “guilt by association” thing rather than a causal thing. I ask because I have CKD and am considering metformin.
Did the doctors elaborate?

The macros suggested sound good, and I would also suggest purging all ultra processed foods because all of the crap additives, oils, etc. create obstacles to healthy metabolism. It made a big difference to my weight loss when I purged these food-like products from my diet and started feeding my body nutrient dense all natural foods.
