Harris ready to be President?

Sen Coons asserts that she is. What do you all think?

Actuaries say Biden will likely survive second term even if his mental capacity continues to decline.

Still better than the carnival barker grifter the other side wants to elect again. That has become the measuring stick.

it's almost like politicians sometimes say things that are just obviously false

because it's politically necessary to pretend

No. She is not ready. And, never will be.
The American people know this. Hell, even Democrats know this. That is why she was unable to get any support during her run for president. Even support in her home state was pretty much nonexistent.

I would say that she is an example of the Peter Principle, but that would mean she would have needed to be competent in previous positions and I'm not even sure that is true.

Willie Brown must have thought she was competent in a position.

I suspect she would be an average president, neither great nor awful, but she doesn't have the gravitas to get elected. I think when she was chosen for VP, she would use the opportunity to distinguish herself and build up her name and image, making her the de facto party leader. But she's done . . . nothing, at least as far as I'm aware. We never see her, never hear from her. Honestly, I forget about her most of the time. If anything, I think her time as VP has hurt her political prospects, rather than helped.

The Dems need to consolidate around a new standard-bearer (ideally one under age 60), but there's no obvious choice. And it's going to hurt us.

You were only sexist there but not racist...try harder.

No one is ready until they are. She has a better than average chance.

Who knows. She seems as ready as anyone else with aspirations. She’s not my favorite, but there’s no reason to think she wouldn’t do ok with the right people around her. I mean ffs, look at her predecessors.

She was an AG for the biggest state in the country and was a sitting US Senator before serving as Vice-President currently. Seems about right given historical precedents.

Based on her last run for President? Why would anyone vote for her next time?
Anonymous
Because she isn't an anti-abortion, pro-gun narcissist.

I supported her when she ran, and would support her if she runs again. Like Obama and Bill Clinton, I suspect she would surround herself with very bright wonky government types. Biden has been drawn to more political lightening rods picks, fewer nerds. I think KH would revert back to the nerds and boring competent governance.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

- several “positions,” most likely.

Harris is wildly incompetent to be POTUS.
