That does happen
But gunfights also happen Do you think it's worth innocent bystanders possibly getting hurt? |
|
I'm a proponent of people being armed in areas with high crime for protection and deterrence, but I know that will never happen for most.
Although I personally own several firearms I don't carry... mostly because I live in Fairfax where risk of encounters is very low. |
| Anyone who thinks this country needs more guns is clearly crazy. |
| Sure. Will that stop cops from stopping random cars and killing black people who have the right to ccw? |
| I live in DC and have no interest in owning a gun. But I hate that our gun laws mean that every carjacker absolutely knows I don’t have a gun and am a sitting duck. |
| I hope they prosecute the driver for threatening someone with a firearm! His reckless aggression could have gotten someone killed! No piece of property is worth a human life. |

The data and research are not on your side.
Please don't come back and post John Lott, the Andrew Wakefield of gun research. |

Anecdotes are not data.
"Good guys with guns" hasn't done jack shit for bringing down crime. |
Might want to brush up on the concept of justified self defense. Just another of the 80,000 plus annual defensive uses of firearms in the US, and like most no shots fired. |
| Hearing the perversion of the second amendment stated always makes me feel so sad. |
I don’t. They would just shoot you first. Stupid idea. |
OK. You don’t want a gun. You think it would be useless to you. And with that mindset you’re probably right. But why do you get to be ruler of all you survey and deny other people the means to defend themselves? I’m sure you demand choice in other areas. Why not this one? |
