my son told us about two fights that have happened at Frost this year that involved the same kid sending two other kids to the hospital. First time was a severe concussion and head injury and the fight yesterday resulted in some sort of compound fracture.
According to our son- the first fight resulted in an unschool suspension where the kid posted on social media about #hedeservedit and #free[insert kids name here] This second fight seems to involve a three day suspension but why is he allowed back at school? He definitely has an anger management problem. What can parents do about this? |
| No charges of assault? |
| not sure if there are charges of assault? there has been no communication from the school. |
|
1. Did your son witness it or hear about it?
2. Does he know the kids who were hospitalized? |
|
My son witnessed the first fight in the hallway and was pretty shook up about it. The other kid took a bad beating.
He wasn’t in the PE class yesterday when’re the body slamming incident occurred but it was all the talk and no one was surprised at the instigator. |
| Robinson SS had a fight yesterday were a teacher was hit by a student. My understanding is that the student was suspended but assaulting a teacher is absurd. I'd love to see these kids gone for good. My understanding is that the school does not have the legal ability to do that, though |
| How can the parents of the assaulted child not press charges in this type of situation? |
Some people don't trust the police, some people don't want to cause more trouble and some people may want to handle it themselves, quietly... |
They obviously didn't do the last option or it wouldn't have happened a second time. |
|
An asst principal at Glasgow was also injured in a fight:
https://www.ffxnow.com/2023/04/13/just-in-rumors-of-student-bringing-gun-to-glasgow-ms-lead-to-boost-in-police-presence/ I don’t think students are being disciplined enough for fighting at school. |
Are you kidding me? They arent being disciplined for anything, let alone fighting. They arent even expected to be able to read books or do homework. |
|
There have always been fights. But, usually after school or behind the school or elsewhere away from adults. But, body slamming in the hallway reflects lack of concern about adult intervention. I cannot imagine anyone assaulting a teacher.
This needs to stop. Whatever happened to that kid who was assaulted by the girl on the school bus. Or, I should say, did anything happen to her? |
Nothing happened to her. |
I believe your son. There was a terrible fight at Stone(hospitalization) last year and FCPS worked hard to cover it up. |
I thought it was two different victims. One day, the violent kid is going to pick the wrong one. |
