So what happens when the Federal government can’t issue Nov Food Stamps?

USDA has billions in contingency funds. It has been used to cover SNAP during previous shutdowns. But the Republicans chose to weaponize it instead.

A judge ordered them to pay up from the contingency fund.

This shutdown is about the ACA subsidies. I get that you in your secure fed med plan dgaf about the under insured. Thankfully, other feds care and the Democrats care.

This admin could find money to pay the Snap benefits if they wanted to. They've been very creative using their powers when they care. A Dem president would find the funds, shutdown or not.

The “subsidies” were only ever intended to be temporary to get through COVID. That’s why the DEMCRATS capped the subsidies at 5 years. ACA was never intended to be Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP. It was never intended to be another entitlement program. The country is $38 trillion in debt because of these programs.

No the country is $38 trillion in debt because republicans repeatedly cut taxes but don’t cut spending by an equivalent amount to match the lost revenues.

The Republicans are trying to cut spending. But since they don’t have 60 votes in the Senate they cannot pass individual appropriations bills so we’re stuck with the FY24 Biden budget. Which, ironically, the Senate Democrats have now voted 14 times against.

It’s no longer the FY24 Biden budget. That budget funded USAID, foreign assistance, the education department, infrastructure projects, disaster assistance and numerous other things than Trump has cut. If Rs want to continue whatever remains of that budget, they can change the filibuster and do it with 51 votes.

So I can’t get my paycheck because Trump cut USAID? Are you out of your mind?

Republicans can end this any moment they want. But what they want is the cover of Dem votes to say it was all bipartisan. Nope.

They’ve tried to end it 14 times since October 1. So there’s that.

They get rid of the filibuster today if they want too. This is not the Biden budget that Dems voted for. It's whatever Trump wants it to be.

The Democrats won’t take yes for an answer. This is getting ridiculous. The Rs have tried to reopen the government 14 times. They’ve offered a 1 year ACA extension. They are negotiating in good faith. The press is actually starting to do their job and call the Ds out. Schumer looks weak and silly. After the elections on Tuesday six Democrats will cross over to get us out of the ditch and Schumer will looks weak even worse.

And based on reporting, the administration’s attorneys do not believe that the government can tap into those contingency funds. Trump has been very clear that he will distribute the funds so long as he legally can, and is requesting additional guidance from the courts on how to legally distribute the funds.

It’s a breath of fresh air to have a president who actually considers the legality of his actions, unlike Biden who kept trying to forgive student loans for the wealthy elite, and a president who is fighting so hard to get food stamps to those in need despite the democrats’ treasonous actions leading to the prolonged closure of the government.

Hopefully this is the straw that breaks the camel’s backs and the democrats are removed from power and legally prevented from pursuing government positions for the foreseeable future. We need to recognize they are nothing more then a party attempting to overthrow our democratically elected conservative government.

You know we have a whole coequal branch of government, composed of presidentially appointed individuals who have the authority to interpret the law and issue binding orders right???

Which is why Trump is asking said branch how to distribute the funds legally.

We are in a situation where a liberal activist judge ordered Trump to do something his attorneys believe is explicitly illegal, and Trump needs to know how they are supposed to do so.

It’s like if you went to court because your neighbor’s fence crosses your property line, and the judge tells you that you can just murder your neighbor.

I'm not clear on why Trump sitting on his stool and anxiously wringing his hands over the legality of releasing the emergency funds during an emergency HAS to come with building a new ballroom and installing a gold and marble toilet?

Did you not watch the schoolhouse rock video in grade school? Trump's attorneys are not the ones who determine legality, the judiciary is.

That is on Biden’s inhumane and treasonous policy of letting illegal immigrants enter and remain in our country.

We would not have this situation if Biden had closed our borders and made sure that illegal immigrants knew there were actual consequences for their invasion.
