Its not about JA ultimately just sharing the reality of this complicated situation which is more smoke and mirrors than anything else when you realize everyone knows each other and are playing all the parents for suckers

Facts here. That 09 BSC team has scouts watching them that should have no business being there.

Is this why so many 09s are moving to BSC? Others said it was because of MV

Playing with friends senior year is the earth shattering narrative I've heard. Move on folks this is very silly. And everyone is doing just fine at both clubs.

I apologize if this has already been answered, but I'm a little new to this thread. Why did the coach of BSC 10 get fired by FVU? Seems like he was doing well over there and was asked to leave, why?

Because he wouldn’t play kickball.

Come on, I'm being serious. What happened?

He was told to choose between Union and GFR after GFR bought his contract-for-hire coaching company a year earlier. He chose not to dump GFR. Union didn't renew his contract for the following season, but let him finish out his term for the rest of the season including the playoffs. During that time, he negotiated an offer with Bethesda to keep coaching both programs and some of his players followed him to Bethesda. Pretty straightforward.

Why did Union make him choose between GFR and Union? Union invited a bunch of no name clubs to join afterwards — why not just add GFR? At some point it seemed like GFR was going to join.

I don't think GFR was ever going to join Union, not with MYS pulling out at that time. I think the clubs that have always seemed like a more obvious merger are MYS and GFR. Those 2 clubs together would make for a competitive club and probably draw a lot of talent from the folks digruntled with FVU and NVA, etc.

GFR was definitely going to join until a last minute change.

BSC 2010s were better off when no FVU girls joined and no NM .

agreed, would love to see the MYS & GFR unification as well and try to take the best of both clubs in terms of fields and coaches and badges. But the past 5 years make me think that no 'union' can survive in the ego-driven world of soccer. Is VDA the only successful union of two clubs where success means having teams in one of the top leagues and the partnership staying intact for 10+ years? I'm not counting FVU because the union keeps changing, and NVA is controlled by Loudon (or whatever the exact arrangement is). MD teams seem to have some successful unions (Celtic, Armour) though I'm not sure how long those have existed, so is this a VA problem?

With some hard work, and a long term Next Star package that could change quickly.

Figure out who the best 14 are, tell the rest they are unlikely to play and ban parents from practice and your troubles are solved.
Anonymous
Why the needs to ban parents from practices ? So they don’t see them standing around doing absolutely nothing ?. No wonder they lost to United and tied pipeline. Practices are a joke and the girls are not prepared.

Here they are the BSC full fee legacy parents whose DD's birthright was to play ECNL 1 for BSC ready to chirp. You have every right to chirp for the record, thanks for the scholarship to cross the river. I have two more friends in my carpool who need the fees covered. You got us right?

We'll make sure KL and NM will get your two 15 mins halves in North Carolina and at the Showcase cup in Seattle now that we blew our playoff load dropping points to other MD clubs.

What’s in it for MYS to merge? Most of the talent on the girls side at GFR is gone…

Somebody is doing something right with recruiting. Getting an offensive player recruited to a P4 school from a last place ECNL team that can’t score is stunning. I don’t know if I have seen that before. Kudos to whoever got it done.
