Apparently a heated verbal exchange turned into Broderick grabbing a kid and moving him out of the way. The kid(or his parents) decided it was a huge deal and took it to the school. School decided this was a firable offense. You would think over the years he had earned some benefit of doubt, he has been one of the best coaches around for decades now, but one bad decision with an angsty teenager cost him his job. It seems a lot of kids these days think they are gods gift to the planet, expect respect but give none. Horrible look for Chantilly AD too, definitely someone who’s never stepped on a sports field in their life.

wow if that's true that seems unduly harsh. if really just mouthy kid + bad day for coach = decades down the drain - that's terrible.

Wow! Awful. Feel for all of the other tilly kids who lose an all time great coach. Big loss for NOVA lax.

Their offenses are pretty comparable. Yorktown’s defense is better.

Yorktown 11 Langley 8

This assessment is pretty accurate, they just forgot to account for face offs.

McLean/Langley tonight!!

I’m calling McLean 8 Langley 5 with both McLean middies having a hat trick; I think McLean’s speed on offense will be too much for the Langley D

I think that is a good call. Not sure about the middie prop bet, but that is a good line.

A McLean win tonight makes the match-up w/Yorktown later this month even more interesting. Sets up a potential 3-way tie for first as there is no way the other 4 teams in the district has a chance of beating any of the top teams.

Tell that to the kids from public schools around here who have gone on to play college lacrosse.

I would, but there aren't any who would say college coaches came to see their high school games. Just doesn't happen at public schools.

That is why kids are playing for Club Teams in Bethesda/DC.

Just curious - anyone know how the tiebreaker would work for district seeding if there were a three-way tie (McLean beats Langley and Yorktown beats McLean)? Top seed gets a huge advantage.

All of these ended up not close:

West Potomac 8 Fairfax 3
Lake Braddock 8 Alexandria City 1
Patriot 11 Gainesville 3

Hayfield 11-7 win over Alexandria City looks bad if Lake Braddock can beat them 8-1.

#10 spot still up for grabs this week.

McLean @ Langley (McLean -2)
West Springfield @ Woodson (Woodson -4)

Agree..Langley D is way too slow to slow down a very fast and aggressive McLean attack. I expect McLean to jump out to an early lead before Langley can recover and settle in.

Placing your hands on a kid…regardless of how obnoxious they are being…is going to get you fired in a school setting.

How are we saying that Mclean is favored? Langley by 5. Can’t wait.
