Yorktown has played 3 games that matter this season. Lost all 3…

Agree. But very different situation from going public to private. That is why so many club team kids start private school in 9th.

That is a great point about Freedom. Solid team and probably best in Loudoun this year. If they had all the kids who live in the district of Freedom play for Freedom and not PVI they would be easily on the way to winning their second state title in a row.

You don’t think other public schools have good players from their area playing at private schools like PVI, St Stephens, Zaga, Landon, etc?

Yes but not to the extent that Freedom does and did. If you knew you would know

What an ignorant statement. You obviously don't know. Langley has to deal with this issue more than any other school district. Lots of Mclean and Great Falls players playing at private schools...ie top recruit in the country on SJC. Also, Princeton recruit at Landon. Plus many others.

Not a ton of action tonight. These may be interesting:

West Potomac @ Fairfax
Lake Braddock @ Alexandria City
Patriot @ Gainesville

I doubt it. Freedom is the flavor of the week as they knocked off a Riverside team that was missing their D1 Fogo, in OT. Another OT game vs Briar. Either game could have been a loss.
Yes, they are very good and no knock on Freedom at all, but best in Loudoun?

They played a 1 goal game (win) vs a weak Dominion team. That same Dominion team just played Champe and lost 5-2. I thought is was the baseball score at first. Let the season play out before crowning anyone the best in Loudoun.

I can tell you that Freedom, Champe, Lightridge, Indy and Briar all have kids at PVI. Just as other teams lose kids to other privates across VHSL here and outside of NOVA.

Freedom's 8-7 win over Dominion looks kind of bad in light of the Champe 5-2 win. Champe got destroyed by Oakton 10-2.

Freedom plays at Champe on Friday, which will likely tell you if the Freedom score vs. Dominion was an outlier, or they are a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I’ll lift the lid on Broderick situation, only because it’s absolutely ridiculous. Apparently a heated verbal exchange turned into Broderick grabbing a kid and moving him out of the way. The kid(or his parents) decided it was a huge deal and took it to the school. School decided this was a firable offense. You would think over the years he had earned some benefit of doubt, he has been one of the best coaches around for decades now, but one bad decision with an angsty teenager cost him his job. It seems a lot of kids these days think they are gods gift to the planet, expect respect but give none. Horrible look for Chantilly AD too, definitely someone who’s never stepped on a sports field in their life.

Tell that to the kids from public schools around here who have gone on to play college lacrosse.

Everyone knows Madison recruited the Robinson FOGO to transfer for his senior year. It's the worst-kept secret in VHSL lacrosse in the last two years.

Geez, all this noise about one player from a year ago? Sounds like an excuse for not winning.

I would, but there aren't any who would say college coaches came to see their high school games. Just doesn't happen at public schools.
