If you are non observant Jewish, when did you decide to stop following customs around Passover? Do you ever go to seders, or do you just give a nod things, or nothing at all? Do you get together with family?
Anyone write their own Haggadah ? |
| People who are non-observant are not writing their own haggadah. That makes no sense. |
Yeah, ones that don't discuss plagues sent by god, smiting of the first born, etc. Instead, they are more about social justice. |
I've never heard of that. |
| There's a lot of social justice content on Haggadot.com. Probably secular seders too, but I haven't specifically looked. |
is secular Seder like Secular Christmas? Asking for a friend…….. |
Actually, my not very observant family is very happy with our own Haggadah. We would probably let an official one gather dust. We gather for a seder but only 1 component of the family follows the food rules for the rest of the time. |
Adding it was written to be comfortable for non Jewish family members. |
| Does anyone here who is non observant Jewish just not follow the holiday ? When did you decide not to? |
If I don't get invited to a seder I don't do anything for Passover. |
| I realize most of my friends were having seders, observing food restrictions, etc., to accommodate elder relatives who have all passed. |

Jewish Humanist here…
We have a shortened Seder with the traditional foods but don’t follow the restrictions for the week. It’s cultural more than religious |

This Chat GPT Haggadah is the best thing I've seen all year.

I like that. It makes sense to me. |
| I actually avoid all bread for the week altho I don’t worry about corn etc. but I don’t have a seder unless we have a critical mass of family. Usually use the velveteen rabbi haggadah. |
