Me likey so far. It’s changed the game for the better.

Whoops I meant to post that in sports. Sorry.

Agree. Big fan.

I read about this but I don’t understand why it’s better, can someone explain why it’s better? I understand the general rules of baseball but only as a casual fan.

It speeds up the game.

Big time. The Yankees-Giants game was like 2:34 yesterday, the fastest game in MLB in the last 43 years.

It will also produce more offense.

And the limit of two throws to first to check a runner will result in more base stealing.

Basically pitchers and batters dawdle. It’s become part of the game - stepping out of the box or off the mound, walking around, adjusting your gloves or other bits. Each at bat takes 20 seconds or so longer than it used to…and over the course of 9 innings that adds up. The pitch clock gives a reasonable deadline on the dawdling.

I agree. I am a HUGE fan of the pitch clock so far. I think the umps need some more time to get all the fine points dialed in and some of the players don't seem to fully understand the rules and how they are being applied but I think as the season progresses, that will all settle down and be for the better.

I also like the larger bases and the pitcher being limited in how many times they can throw to pick off a runner - that will help with advancing runners and making things more exciting.

Unless a game is going into extra innings, there is no reason to be going over 3, 3 and a half hours so I'm glad that this is now a thing of the past.

I don’t like it at all.

We've already been to 2 live games this year and its so much better! It moves faster in general and nice to get out the stadium in less than 2 hrs.

Any particular reasons why not?

I couldn't care less. I watch a lot of baseball and don't care how long the games take. I like baseball and have plenty of time. I don't, however, like the phrase "me likey" about anything.

The changes weren’t for you. They were for the longevity of the sport, because the upcoming generations weren’t going to sit through (and buy tickets or merchandise for, or watch games to create ad revenue) regular 3 1/2+ hour snail’s pace games.
