[/quote] Basically pitchers and batters dawdle. It’s become part of the game - stepping out of the box or off the mound, walking around, adjusting your gloves or other bits. Each at bat takes 20 seconds or so longer than it used to…and over the course of 9 innings that adds up. The pitch clock gives a reasonable deadline on the dawdling.[/quote]
