motivate me to workout

I just can't get myself to do it. I'm tired, and just want to eat and netflix on this day off. Give it to me Goggins style -- I need some serious motivation this afternoon.

I have NEVER regretted working out. I have almost always felt my heart sink at the end of the day when I don't work out. And, working out motivates me to eat better because I don't want to "undo" all my hard work from working out.

Get off the couch. Don't be a fatso. Put down the chips. Go work out.

Take what you would have done today if you were feeling super motivated and cut it in half.

Do that.

Then decide if you want to stop there or do more. If you want to stop, cut yourself some slack

I like this. The all-or-nothing mentality to working out gets in the way of a lot of, well, workouts.

OP here. I had planned to do 30 minutes strength, 60 min cardio.

I did 30 mins strength, 35 mins cardio, which I'm content with. Overall it was a productive day off, but I slept like crap last night and woke up at 5am, and am just so tired.

Thanks for the tips and motivation!

Just do 10 minutes. There are short 10 minute classes on the Peleton all. Anyone can do 10 minutes. Do arms, core or legs. The next day do it again. Then the following day add another class. After a week or two, you’ll get into a groove.

This is why I have a dog. She's so happy when it's time for a walk.

Walking doesn't get your heart rate up, or burn many calories.

It does if you walk briskly, which means fast, FWIW.

Who cares about heart rate? An hour of walking will burn the same calories as a twenty minute run. It takes longer but it’s worth doing.

Visit a nursing home and see how your quality of life is if you don’t take care of yourself. You can control everything but you can control a lot.

I’m reading Mark Hyman’s Young Forever book right now - good info!
