ACPS School Board-who is representing constitutents and who is there for other reasons?

How do you this the school board is doing?

District A:
Greene-really nice person, well liked. I don't see her doing much. She is currently vice chair.
Reif-seems most in touch with the constituents. Would like to see her speak up more and use her voice.
Bailey-except for the metal detectors, he barely speaks. Seems disengaged. No doubt a great community volunteer. Have beef with him since he sided with Hutchings about not talking to the media or constituents. Thought he didn't do much on city council and says a lot that he didn't get reelected.

District B:
Ignacio-had a lot of insight about the budget process and advocating for students and teachers. Agree with everything regarding school safety.
Booz-find her really unresponsive and a conflict of interest with her job. Was impressed when she spoke up against Hutchings' censorship but I don't see her doing much.
Baird-she seems very responsive to constituents. Her comments on the metal detectors appearance, I think was meant to mean that it didn't make students and teachers feel like they were in a prison, but it came off as fluffy. I think she is on the SB for the right reasons but a little too PC.

District C:
Alderton-has to go. No kids in ACPS (send to Catholic school). Works for a charter network. Laughs at parents and teachers making public comment. The fact she is chair is an embarassment.
Elnoubi-speaks up. appreciate his stance on security despite it not being his own personal views. doesn't respond to constituents' emails but seems well researched and prepared at meetings.
Harris-seems to miss a lot of meetings and votes. Didn't respond to constituents about PH and ST issues.

Greene, Booz and Alderton have higher political ambitions. Maybe Elnoubi. I really want some new people in C and someone to run against Booz. She doesn't respond to anyone. She is MIA to her constituents. I am angry for voting for her.

Does she realize that she's the slave master in her little story? Is she aware of the reading proficiency of students of color in ACPS?

Green will be hired to work at Hutchings grifty consulting firm (she & Alderton helped him on his church book tour). In the last election, she complained that ACPS curriculum is racist. Ignoring that she'd been on the school board for the previous years and had a say in curriculum.

Ignacio appeared on that vapid Alexandria Dem women's podcast where they all drink and said that all the hispanics would vote for her because of her married name. They all had a good, racist laugh over that.
Booze is absolutely conflicted but AFT is working to get their employees on school boards nationally. Her boss worked hard to keep schools closed even past the point of what the CDC and the Biden Administration wanted. She achieved nothing the last time she was on the board and came off as a complete lightweight.
Baird - really disappointing. Was so eager to be part of the establishment club. Her own children's ACPS school is spiraling. My bet is she doesn't run again and puts the kids in private. She'll hang out with all her private school parent friends and whine about how hard it was being on the school board. Scrubbed her campaign website. She used to want transparency and better communication from ACPS. Not anymore. Also owns an equity consulting firm. Maybe she can merge it with her bestie Greg's consulting firm.

Alderton will also head to Hutchings consultancy. Maybe they can get matching leather jackets and have pictures taken together. Hates parents. If you've ever been vocal about ACPS' failings, FOIA your name sometime in connection to Alderton.

Can someone tell me about Baird's consulting firm? I can't find the website online anywhere. It makes me think she has one client and is really a SAHM and just made herself look like a business owner for the election.

What does Rief do? SAHM too? What is Greene's job? Independent consultant? Are these people just independently wealthy?

Ignacio is there purely for the power trip. She was useless as an FCPS employee and bitter that she got busted down from the superintendent’s office to HS AP. She drove off multiple really good teachers from TC and regularly went over the principal’s head.

Too bad she didn’t get that superintendent job in WV a few years ago.

Baird's consulting firm is just a single page with a contact form. It used to have more information but maybe she scrubbed it when she scrubbed her campaign site.

Not sure about the SAHM part but Reif's professional background took a little bit of searching to find. She was a professor at NVCC - not sure why she feels the need to keep that quiet - but that appears to be in the past. She's quite radical (even for Alexandria). I know there was some paranoia that Veronica Nolan and Chris Suarez were somehow tenuously connected to charter schools but it was such a stretch (plus they had never done a single thing to bring school choice to ACPS). Maybe Reif is part of that conspiracy club?

I can't find anything on Greene's day job other than "independent marketing consultant and meeting planner" and volunteer positions. So murky.
