ACPS School Board-who is representing constitutents and who is there for other reasons?

I don't think it's so many school board members. Just Baird and Alderton. Didn't know that about her treasurer! How funny. Even better that Ignacio's treasurer serving as the treasurer of PTAC at the same time. Such a cozy little echo chamber.

I think Booze came off as very likeable and relatable to other parents online. Isn't that what she does for her job? I don't think she was well liked, just well known. She was really engaged in the Open Schools debate, probably for her own gain. Where I live, I do not know anyone who had school aged kids in ACPS who voted for her. The older constituency voted for her based on name recognition and her strong union and Democratic ties. I think she lost most people's support in that group when she was campaigning with Randi Weingarten on the West End by Polk.

Someone told me that several school board members had paid staff working on their campaigns. For school board? It seems unreal. Is this legit or a rumor?

Baird's kids are in ACPS. Many/Most of her supporters (donors etc) are private school parents.
