Greene does not even list independent consultant and meeting planner on her linked in page as a current job. |
She lists herself as living in "New Alexandria". Does that designate an area, like North Old Town? |
I think Linked-in generates that. My profile says New Alexandria as well even though I live north of King in Old Town. |
Honestly, the school board doesn't pay. It's like $6K. Are these people independently wealthy? |
It seems so and/or SAHM for some. |
I've come to the conclusion that they are independently well off or doing it for their political career. |
I noticed that Baird and Booz "liked" the post the other day of a parent saying her kid was beat up. The admin of the parent group was trying to say the poster named names (they did not). They were trying to say this was a "cover up" and it seems like school board members didn't like it. I am not foolish to believe that my children are not immune from violence. I have seen the videos of fights. I have heard from friends who I respect and trust, who value public education. They are not people who would leave public schools. But enough is enough! Why don't people speak up? Why are they saying it's okay for violence to occur? Can't kids just use the bathroom without fear of violence? |
Read this thread and you'll learn why:https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/45/1122823.page So other people who you don't know who complain don't value public education? |
I don't know how elected official "liked" a post that censored a mom describing violence. I am sickened by the entire SB. |
Why are so many school board members supported mainly by a private school constituency? Baird for instance. Most of her fundraisers the parents send their kids to private school. Her volunteers sent their kids to private school. Did no one realize this? Same with Alderton. Her kids go to private school. Her treasurer is a parent from her kids' private school. I heard that Nolan's kid goes to private school now too. Where do Suarez's kids to? I feel like most go to private. |
You really shouldn't be surprised if you've been following the ACPS school boards. I didn't think that the parent hatred pouring off the school board could get worse than the last board - two former B board members (Cindy Anderson and Margaret Lorber) were particularly hateful to parents. Ramee Gentry was very vocal that she believed that some parents voices counted more than others. Somehow this board is even worse. |
Baird is too chummy with ACPS central office. She calls the former superintendent "Greg". She is probably using this as a stepping stone for a political career. Same with some others like Bailey and Elnoubi who ran for city council, didn't get elected so ran for school board. I hope the west end parents have some better candidates next time. Did you see that the school board changed the terms? Are there term limits for members? I would say that Green should be gone too. Nice woman. But what has she done? What has Ignacio or Booz done? |
Booz works for a national teacher's union. To me that should be a conflict of interest, as should Ignacio who receives an ACPS pension and was an ACPS employee. Same with Alderton, whose husband is an ACPS employee. How many other school board members have family members employed by the school division? |
I don't think Baird wants a political career. I think that, like "equity" or not, it's now a very lucrative line of business. And that's the business she's in so I think she's adding to her resume. |
It's a conflict of interest. It's pretty funny that the Open ACPS people LOVED her and yet she was working for a union that was instrumental in keeping schools closed. Bet she had a really good laugh about that. I know I did. |
