Can someone tell me about Baird's consulting firm? I can't find the website online anywhere. It makes me think she has one client and is really a SAHM and just made herself look like a business owner for the election. What does Rief do? SAHM too? What is Greene's job? Independent consultant? Are these people just independently wealthy?
Baird's consulting firm is just a single page with a contact form. It used to have more information but maybe she scrubbed it when she scrubbed her campaign site. Not sure about the SAHM part but Reif's professional background took a little bit of searching to find. She was a professor at NVCC - not sure why she feels the need to keep that quiet - but that appears to be in the past. She's quite radical (even for Alexandria). Her endorsement from this NYC group goes into much more detail about her views than her campaign every did:https://npeaction.org/michelle-rief-district-seat-alexandria-va-board-education/ She voted for the metal detectors and to bring back SROs, didn't she? Does anyone have any back ground on this in relation to ACPS? "She told us that she’s “watched as the corporate education reform movement has gradually dismantled and privatized our public school system, making it harder for poor and working class kids to move up.” When she saw this kind of reform creeping into her own school system, she decided to run to push back." I know there was some paranoia that Veronica Nolan and Chris Suarez were somehow tenuously connected to charter schools but it was such a stretch (plus they had never done a single thing to bring school choice to ACPS). Maybe Reif is part of that conspiracy club?
