Why people try to paint DC in a bad light by highlighting every bad things they can find?

Is this a conscious republican or foreign campaign to make national capital look bad?

This might be hard to wrap your head around, but some of us are from here and want it to be better?

You caught us. It's part of the vast right-wing conspiracy.

Why do people try to “control the narrative” by claiming that any criticism must be a Russian bot or Fox News watcher?

Not all of us can afford a safe house in NW so need to pay attention and attempt to fix the major real issues affecting us in DC

You would think DC is a cesspool they way many DCUMers portray it. All big cities have issues. I don’t get it either OP.

Where do you live? I’ve lived in DC a long time and in other cities. Crime here is getting worse.

DC isn’t all that big. It’s not a hellscape but considering the wealth here it is REALLY poorly governed.

Why do people act like DC isn't in a major decline and have their heads in the sand OP? Let's talk about that first. Is this a conscious maneuver made by the democrats? See how that sounds?

DC is 100% democrat-run. The White House is in Biden’s hands, and for most of the last 2 years, democrats controlled BOTH houses of congress.

Republicans are obviously, solely to blame for all of DC’s problems, going back decades.

Me neither. Also, something to consider: this is likely your kids’ hometown unless you are really only stopping by for a couple of years. So, your kids are growing up in a crappy place? Nice. When you are in Europe vacationing you tell everyone how you live in this awful place and how much better Dallas, TX is or Tampa, FL? And your kids think this? Your kids think they live in a crap place and that they would be so much happier if they lived in Charleston, SC or Cary, North Carolina or one of these other places people are always touting? Please.
