| Heads up to any parents of Juniors. First, they send admissions letters early and by "accident". Now today then send an email that they will be trickling out admissions decisions in "waves over the upcoming weeks". Jerks. |
| What do you expect from that school? |
| College doesn’t start until August, why does this bother you? |
Nothing now lol. They suck. My kid won't be attending even if admitted. Just wanted to pass this on to anyone who wants to save their $75 next year. |
Wouldn't it bother you if your kid got an email that they were admitted and weren't really? Or if your kid really wanted to go to this school and you had no idea when decisions would come? Kids start speculating online, its pretty heartless to not give a firm date. |
If your kid doesn’t have patience an admissions counselor might assume they lack maturity and they won’t be accepted anyway. |
|
My kid applied EA and was deferred. The email just sent doesn’t bother me at all. My son also applied to rolling admission schools that do not give a firm date for decisions. At least they are communicating.
Also note to Juniors: Northeastern is very generous with application Fee waivers. They seem to send them out close to the November 1 deadline. That happened both for my 2020 grad and my current senior. |
| I really can’t believe people take this con job of a college seriously. Knowing all the games they play |
Of course they are generous - to deflate their acceptance rate |
|
FWIW, U of Washington first said 3/1-3/15 in waves. Then a the start of March, they emailed 3/9-3/15 in waves. DS got his notification 3/10.
So many schools are just overwhelmed this year with apps. I’m not trying to excuse NEU (actually hoping that DS doesn’t get in because of cost - we could make it happen, but not sure that it’s worth it), just giving some context. |
Only laugh because I was thinking the same thing. At this point, WTH can you do? What a cluster. |
Lesson learned here. Pass it on. |
| Sounds like most schools. |
| OP here. Also forgot to mention how NEU reiterated in this email how they might admit your kid to their Oakland and London campuses when they didn't even apply to those. Just so sketchy it's funny at this point. |

I don't understand the problem with this.
P.S. DD going to Northeastern this fall for engineering. |
