Anyone following this story? Roy McGrath was supposed to appear in court yesterday on charges of fraud and embezzlement, but he never showed up.

He has scarpered. Or at least, I hope he has scarpered, because the alternative possibility is worse.

First: thanks for introducing me to a new word! Second: Where do you think he scarpered to? He turned in his passport in 2021.

A quiet place in the woods or the bottom of a lake. Not everyone wants to spend decades in jail

Larry should go on tv and plea for him to turn himself in.

Embezzlement at that level means accomplices. Probably is no longer alive. Unfortunate circumstance.

Will be interesting to see who else is implicated. This will likely have repercussions on Hogan’s expected presidential campaign. You can already imagine Trump needling Hogan on this.

You’re a little late on that. Hogan announced that he is not running for president about a week ago.

He was under suspicion before he became hogans Chief of Staff, so I wonder if that was public information and I’m curious to see who is implicated.

Weird, that was a low key announcement.

I’m guessing this case likely played into Hogan’s decision.

Hogan's announcement was on CNN which is pretty much national news.

It was widely reported and even on national media. You probably just missed it.

He scarpered when his plans to grift were scuppered.

CNN reported it a few days ago. In Hogan's words, he said he won't risk “being part of another multi-car pileup that could potentially help Mr. Trump recapture the nomination.”

That said, I am not so sure Mr. McGrath is still alive. God have mercy and all that...

My cat also isn't running for president, and for much the same reason as Hogan: no support, no funding.
