I would like to move to Fairfax but keep my child in her APS school. Can I pay tuition and keep her there? |
LOL. Good one.
You can pay "tuition" by keeping your Arlington home in addition to your fairfax home. |
Unfortunately no. |
Troll. |
Let me guess – it’s a lottery school? |
The PIP is linked here. https://www.apsva.us/student-services/residency/ As of 2017 you could |
You can call the APS's front desk and ask. Given that they will start kicking out 5th and 8th graders who are not Arlington residents next year, I wouldn't hold my breath.
|
They aren’t kicking them out. They are assisting them to enroll in the school district where they reside. |
Why on earth would you want to?
You can in Falls Church City but I want to say it was $17k when we looked into it. |
Maybe they figure the odds would be better for the TJHSST lottery from APS. Or they work in Arlington. |
You pick the school? |
Have you looked at FCC? There’s only one school for each level. No you don’t get to pick. |
Which this poster wants to get around by moving, but still keeping their child in APS. A more definitive answer will come from APS, not anonymous posters. |
Well, they want to go to a better school than FCPS, so why would they look at Falls Church City? |
These aren’t even close to the same issue. OP wants to pay for her child to attend APS if they move. The kids who are getting unenrolled got a free ride here. Since I don’t see any indication that they will be asking the parents to pay back the tuition, it’s not the same at all. |
