What car should I buy

Anonymous
I am a single parent, 14 year old twin boys who I suspect will take after their Dad who is 6’4” tall, so I need a back seat that can handle long legs, and safety features that can handle new drivers. They play a lot of sports that involve carrying stuff around, like snowboards and mountain bikes and hockey gear. We live in the city and need to parallel park, and I’d like something not too expensive that will last forever. My current vehicle is older than my kids, so I tend to keep them a while.

I am thinking a relatively new used car. Any suggestions on models?

A small SUV is what I would do. Like a Honda or a Toyota or a Subaru.

I’m thinking a Subaru Forester.

At present, Subaru doesn't offer any cars with reasonable back seats in a hybrid. Far from it, Subarus get embarrassingly bad fuel economy. It is why I have a mid-size SUV and not another Outback.

I have a Toyota RAV4 and it does not work for long legs. My other car is a very old Toyota Avalon, and it is much more comfortable.

Our family has owned 4 Subaru Foresters. They last two (2015 and 2017) have not been reliable, the dealership service has been incompetent and so we will not be buying any more.

OP said she wants something that lasts forever, that is not a Subaru.

A Toyota Highlander would probably be good, but might be larger than you want to park.

+1 they last forever. I don't think I will buy anything else from now on.
