Did anyone watch this? They review the theories. In hindsight, what sounds the most plausible to you?
I think the US shot it down for some reason. Old DCUM thread: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/368394.page |
Not that the US shot it down "for some reason." I think the likeliest explanation is the pilot had a death wish for some reason and crashed it into the ocean. Since rescuers were looking in the wrong place after the initial disappearance the wreckage dispersed or sank. |
Why would the US shoot it down? The suicide theory makes the most sense. |
+1 |
I think pilot suicide makes the most sense (See fact that his flight simulator practices or whatever they're called). But his family says that he was happy, he volunteered in the community, etc. But, I guess that would not be the first time a suicidal (homicidal) person acted normally prior to killing himself and others. I think the US surveillance planes in the area is suspect and could possible be an alternative theory. And it seems sketchy as that was described. But, maybe I'm naive in thinking the US government would not sacrifice the lives of 270 people just to prevent China from getting some unknown US Tech. |
I think it’s super weird that the American man with Russian ties just kept randomly finding plane parts within 30 minutes of being on certain beaches. And I’m not usually a conspiracy theorist. |
It is strange. And then not having the id plates on them, as one of the journalists noted. |
It was clearly aliens. |
It’s a Netflix documentary designed to blame Russia to try and justify our getting involved in the war in Ukraine. |
Is anyone else freaked out that it happened 9years ago? When I heard the ad and it said it happened nearly a decade ago, I thought it referred to another plane. Where does time go??? |
PP here. The Russian spin was annoying and overdone. But the situation with Gibson is beyond bizarre and did seem too coincidental for my taste. It’s worth noting that same year Russian did shot down a plane over Ukraine. But imo that’s a different situation. The French father, who I really felt sorry for (I felt for all the victims’ families) thought the FBI was in on it. |
Agreed, by far the likeliest scenario is the pilot. I don't believe for a second the US shot it down. What would be the reason? Second, if it was a mistake, the US would own up to it or another country country would out them. There have been examples of accidental bombings in the past without a grand coverup. |
I didn’t understand enough of the Inmersat data stuff. What tech did they have on the plane? How does it work as a tracking device? Has the data been independently verified? |
Did you watch it? I’m curious how you came to this conclusion because they seemed to present that as the least likely theory. There’s no proof, they pulled out several experts to contradict it, and basically made the guy look like an ass. |
Why would the pilot drive for 6 hours to suicide? Why not go down immediately? |
