waitlisted everywhere

We applied to 5 Schools. Waitlisted at all. Our K-8 admin team insists they can help and waitlists move. Love any words of encouragement. Also never ever go to a K-8 school. The worst outcome.

Oh no!!! So sorry. At least one of them will move for sure. Rooting for you!

Don't give up hope. Seems like your current school has a plan to find him a place somewhere. Tough day. Sorry, but WLs do move!

Waitlists do move a bit and the admissions people making yield decisions are only human. Hopefully you had a safety school or 2 even though those barely exist anymore.

I’m sorry, OP. Your HOS will definitely help place your child for next year. This happened in my DCs class to someone and they ended up at Madeira (applied after decisions came out), but had to board. HOS will work hard to find you a spot.

We are not at a K-8 but friends last year were and their child ended up with 2 options off of waitlists. There will be movement and you are well positioned with your exmissions team to help you. If one of their kids are shut out, it looks terrible for the future. They will be super motivated!

Coming from our private K-8, we got into one school (our 'safety' school) and got WL for the other four. This after years of being assured that they have a great relationship with the top high schools, and we'd get into one of them. My DD is top academically, top test scores, well rounded, etc.

Waitlisted everywhere here too. It sucks.

Sometimes it helps to look for some schools outside the DC area. There are great high schools and boarding schools with rolling deadlines that are outside the heavily populated DC suburbs.

Which K-8 is this?
