Private & Independent Schools
| Hi - Does anyone know how competitive Basis is with respect to slots? Meaning, if our child is gifted and academically strong, are they pretty much guaranteed admission? It seems like for Basis there is a more of an academic standard if you're over that, you're in, whereas other schools have very limited slots (and those are allocated based on a variety of reasons). Thanks for any thoughts/expertise |
| If your check clears, you're in. Good luck. |
They made my son come back and retake the math test. They felt he made errors of inattention vs. not understanding the material. It's not his first choice anyway, so however it turns out is fine. |
| I have a hard time believing any Basis school post is made in good faith after the trolling that has been done here. |
| They made my husband retake the math test after his payment bounced. Luckily, he got it right the second time and they accepted our daughter. |
They have a ton of slots. They've been advertising on the radio. It's pathetic. |
| It's my first choice. I hope I get in but have GDS as backup safety school. |
😀😀😀😀😀 Love it… My kid could not get into Basis, too competitive. He’s going to STA instead… phew. |
Lol, you must be so proud of him! |

| Ok ladies no need to be jerks about it is there? |
Stop name-calling and go away. The Basis trolls have been terrible. |
Seems like a lot of advertising on Niche, too. |

There are ways to say thing factually about Basis (I was appalled by what I saw in the DC one during a tour; it seemed like a terrible way to learn and cram for the results with public school far preferable). It’s cringy to read condescending comments coming from people lucky enough to get into schools they consider superior.
PSA: I don’t think Basis are good and nurturing schools. |
You'll get in. They need more money for advertising. Everyone gets in. |
