I’m embarrassed by this, but there is a woman in my gym who always comes to workout in basically a superhero suit — skin tight elastic, all one color.
She is very attractive, and I honestly find it distracting. I don’t want to leer but it actually means if I’m just looking in her general direction, I kind of feel like I have to stare away from here (versus if someone normal looking is in front of me while I work out I don’t pay them any mind). Is this actually comfortable to work out on, is she trying to dress up for attention? It’s a bright silver color, so very eye catching. Im an old dad, I don’t want to be checking her out while she works out, but I’m only human. I don’t know what answer I want, I just find it frustrating! |
Although I wouldn’t find a jumpsuit/onesie comfortable, but I can only assume some people do. I hear people say they enjoy one-pieces because they don’t have to pull up their leggings constantly when they ride down or pull down their top when it rides up.
If I were you, I’d just try not to worry about seeing an attractive lady. Don’t leer, but I wouldn’t stress if she’s in front of you and you see her. I’m a mostly straight woman, but can’t help but appreciate an attractive lady. I’d feel hypocritical complaining about seeing beautiful people in person given we generally all like to look at them in movies, ads, internet etc. Beautiful people need to live their lives too, and they shouldn’t have to cover up just because we are uncomfortable with their beauty in real life. |
They do it for attention. No one finds this comfortable. |
I don’t like working out in baggy clothing. I don’t wear a bodysuit, but I wear tight yoga pants and a fitted workout top with fitted jacket. I recently lost some weight and my old stuff *just fit* but was slightly baggy. I hated how it felt. |
Grow up. You are in control of yourself and your actions. |
Skin tight clothing is much more comfortable to work out in. Can't stand loose clothes swishing around, bunching, or riding up.
I don't wear the super buttcrack-y wedgie leggings/shorts that a lot of the gym influencer types wear though. That seems over the top "look at my ass" to me, but I am old. |
I work out in leggings and a fitted shirt too. I don't like clothes bouncing around and distracting me. that said, I can't imagine being comfortable in a skin-tight onesie but to each their own. A girl in my gym works out in a tutu (seriously!) but at least she is going it. |
I’d argue the majority of women I see working out, have tight leggings and a tight top. Not a unitard! There’s a big difference. |
I wear “skintight” biker shorts (AKA normal fitting) plus a crop top. Shorts are for chub rub. Cropped tee is for sweat. I’m at the gym right now. I don’t care what these old busted dads are thinking about my thicc thighs. |
Maybe if you tell her you can read her lips, she'll dress more modestly? |
Reason #9283523875 why I hate gyms, OP. I like to work out in relatively tight clothes so I can check my form. And I like blue and pink, so maybe it's a bit eye-catching.
I don't know what the answer is. Try not to look too hard? ![]() |
Agree. I like to form fitting yoga pants and if I want to wear a form fitting top I'll usually put a a tshirt over that top. I do not like any extra fabric on my shirt that rubs my arms - forarms (like around my waist/hips) or upper arms (like if a woman wear's a man's Tshirt and the sleeves are too big). But that sounds like a far cry from a silver body suit. |
This. Look away, distract yourself, get your own self under control. This is 1000% a you issue, OP. I work out out, and loose clothing doesn't work well for me when working out. My gym attire isn't for anyone but myself, and how I feel about myself. Your thoughts about what other people wear has only to do with your lewd immaturity. |
I also prefer to wear fitted clothes working out, but I always wear black leggings because they look better on me than patterns and colors.
OP, I think it's natural that you have to make an effort to look away from an attractive person working out in a shiny silver suit. Truly, I think you would also find your eye being drawn to an unattractive person in a silver suit because SHINY! and MOVEMENT! You wouldn't feel as weird about it, though. |
Dp. Sorry, but if a guy is hopping around in gym class with his butt outline and package showing, imma look. Similarly, if a woman is showing cleavage, etc, imma look. People are animals and our eyes are drawn to parts and pieces...whether they're attractive or not. The exhibitionists among us, and let's be clear: if you're in class in skin tight clothing, you're an exhibitionist, are putting themselves on display TO BE LOOKED AT. I'm not even a bit gay and I know I'd be looking at the lady in op's class, too. |
