- on the one hand, you have some Democrats who believe Joe Biden's debate performance amplified concerns about his age in a way that may dissuade people from voting for him.

- on the other hand, the primaries are over, and Joe Biden is disinclined to step aside.

This leaves the Democrats in a predicament: should Joe Biden be the nominee in the general election?

Yes, the Democrats’ only goal is to keep Trump from winning. They have to put up a candidate that’s attractive to swing state voters. Will swing state voters go with Biden despite his weaknesses? The polls say no. Will a new candidate get enough momentum to win? Also probably not.

So true. Talk to just about any Democrat politician, and ask what’s their #1 priority and they’ll tell you “Take down Trump”.

Isn’t there a name for that condition?

You have no idea what voters will do when faced with the choice of Trump or Anyone Else on their ballots. The polls have been wrong many times, including when Trump won the first time and most recently in France.

Exactly.

This has been explained before, the polls in France were not wrong. Their system of government allows for snap elections followed by the regrouping of various factions to gather a governing majority. Just a totally different system from ours.

He has really slowed recently, in his walking speed, in his thinking and decision making speed. He is moving at a turtle pace - he'll get to withdrawing when he gets there.

If his thinking and decision making speed have really slowed, the greatest concern is that he's still running the country for the next six months.

You're not wrong - but there is precedent.

But isn't that Trump and the GOP's #1 priority? Winning in November, implementing Trump's vision and preventing any other vision from being implemented?

If this election is lost, it’s Biden’s to lose and not anyone else’s.

I think the Bidens overestimate how much people hate Trump. Outside of the Beltway, California , and New York City , there isn’t much animus for Trump. Now Illinois and NJ may flip to Trump based on polling .

If this election is already doomed and will be a colossal loss, let it be Bidens burden to carry.

I’m not surprised the Clintons are supporting Biden. They want someone else to get an embarassing and unceremonious exit out of politics

Agree with this. No candidate with good potential wants to get into this mess right now. No one they put forward is likely to win, so why would they take on the loss when they would just sit quiet and have a much better chance at winning in 2028? This is Joe’s election to lose and no one wants to fall on that sword for him.

But the polls here in 2022 had corporate media positive that there would be a red wave. It was not. In fact, it was a historically strong election for a midterm incumbent’s party.

The GOP is about as welcome as norovirus on a space shuttle.

He’s already answered this question about a dozen times since the debate. The continued passive aggressiveness from the Democrat elites is growing tiresome, is unbecoming and is turning off independent voters. We’re ridin’ with Biden until November.

We deserve answers and accountability from all of the people who falsely insisted they had "inside information" that he was stepping down. Evidently they arrogantly assumed their lies would somehow manifest into reality.

The coup plotters must be stopped.

Apparently some of it is coming from Republican Steve Schmitt and Dean Philips.

Why am I not surprised that Republicans are involved in the SuperPACs like "Pass The Torch?" It's an astroturfing psyop.

Phillips is my rep and I’ve already let him know what I think of him. I don’t know who bought him, but someone did.

Trump has pretty much said he is out for revenge and retribution.

Yeah, but he's just saying that, he doesn't really mean it.

The longer they leave it, the lower the chances that anyone else could successfully take his place. Let alone successfully win.

But I guess that was his selfish goal all along. And it’s working. Maybe he’s not as senile as we all think! Giving Kamala VP in the first place when she’s so unlikable and incompetent was already a smart move for his political survival.
