VA Public Schools other than FCPS
Weird takeaway. The rules are arbitrary and we should make it easier for working parents of young kids to speak. I wish Jeff would block the APE trolls who come in every thread and go off topic. It’s annoying (and ironic). |
DP but you can sign up to speak over the internet, as a working parent, unless the process has changed. I used to do this, nbd. The instructions are on the board meeting page, they're not that hard. Not an APE troll though they're sure not my favorite people. |

Here -- less than 30 seconds of googling and reading. Truly not that hard: https://www.apsva.us/arlington-school-board/school-board-meetings/sign-up-to-speak/
The online speaker form will be posted four business days before the Board meeting and remain open until 4 p.m. the day before the meeting. |
Page 73 of this thread is FILLED with anti-APE statements. How can you say that defending a post defending the predicate for their organization — opening schools — should be blocked and off topic? Anyone who posts on here in defense of keeping Nottingham opening or questioning the APS staff is labeled “APE.” It appears to me that attackers are using it as a proxy to mean a wealthy, entitled, probably white North Arlingtonian. Again, not in APE, but planning on joining based solely on this thread. |
Has that case been settled? I hope she got nothing - doesn't even live in Arlington I heard! A cheater |
|
Why is APE relevant to this thread and why are the last dozen comments about them? Do they have an opinion on Nottingham? Or is it because they are the proxy for white entitled North Arlington? Why are people so obsessed with this group? Cue 5 more pages of hysteria. |
You're projecting. APE was wrong then and they are still clueless today. They - including Miranda - should be apologizing to the whole community for their behavior. |
APS made the best decision with the information and CDC guidelines we had at the time. They "hysterics" were all from APE. |
The point was that it sounded like the anti-trailer PP didn't even have kids in APS. Some people just like to complain. |
I guess if that's something that you want to seek out. |
They're so clueless. |
You don’t have to have kids in APS to complain about how APS does business. They take half of the tax revenue of Arlington County and manage a whole lot of land. What they do affects a lot of people. Enrollment status is irrelevant- taxpayer status is. |
Yes, APE released a statement to Arlnow that they have concerns about the proposal and the anti-APEs lost their mind because the APEs didn’t speak out on masks but would speak out on this. Or something. Queue a dozen questions about what their mission does and doesn’t entail and a whole lot of stereotyping nastiness about white North Arlington parents, and here we are. |
| Cue. The word is "cue" |
