Gaetz unsubstantiated rumor & how the GOP operates

On twitter there's a rumor circulating that's not favorable to Gaetz. Somebody also mentioned that he's being "Cawthorned" because he defied the House leader. So, does the GOP have dirt on all members, most members? Does it seek this info for all? Do Dems do it too?

It doesn't take much to imagine McCarthy is going to lead using a Carrot or a Stick -- what choice does he have? He's backed himself into a corner and shown he's weak.

And yes, I do believe there's files on all of them. Knowledge is power.

If you're a politician with any amount of power, you got there because someone has leverage on you. You get out of line and suddenly you start having problems. Gaetz has some really odd things going on in his life, that should have made him unelectable in the Republican party, but he's been shielded from that, perhaps until now.

To the contrary, when you’re as “true conservative” as Cawthorn and Gaetz, there’s no way you’re losing in your incredibly gerrymandered district and there’s no room on the right for a primary candidate, so if the party wants them gone they need to resort to other measures.

The rumors are compliments of Rebekah Jones. The rumors are not to be believed. She is mentally unstable.

Rebekah Jones, who helped design the state's coronavirus website, signed an agreement with prosecutors admitting guilt to a charge of illegally accessing the state’s computer system and requiring her to pay $20,000 to cover the investigation's costs, perform 150 hours of community service and see a mental health counselor monthly. If she completes those requirements, the charge will be dropped within two years. The agreement was filed late last week at Tallahassee's circuit court.

Jones, who lost a bid for Congress last month, was charged in January 2021 with one count of offenses against users of computers, computer systems, computer networks and electronic devices.
