| Naive mom here? So DC witnessed kids snorting cocaine in the school’s bathroom and they were also passing around weed inside the school. Of course I’ve heard about drugs in high school. In fact a friend told me her daughter has routinely smelled weed in the bathrooms at AHC, but I guess I’m still stunned. Id never expect this sort of activity INSIDE THE SCHOOL. I’m thinking why am I paying private school tuition for this? (Please save the comments about the value of private school). DC told me the admin isn’t allowed into student bathrooms so no way the kids can get caught. And they go to class high but use colored contacts to disguise their eyes. Of course this is a specific group. Is this common in small area privates? DC went to a private middle school and there weren’t any drugs or smoking or vaping—nothing. Wondering what to do (of course DC swore me to secrecy). |
| Lol colored contacts to hide their eyes |

You do nothing with the school
You decide whether you think the school is safe for your child. All schools have drugs. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. If your kid can not go in a bathroom safely I'd rethink that school. |
That doesn't really work |
Thus the lol |
|
Have you reported this to the school? I’m sure there’s a way to keep your kid’s name out of it.
Fwiw, I did coke when at private school in the late 80s. No one reported it, but I wish they would have; I was a stupid, stupid kid who thought they could get away with anything. Wasted a good many years being an idiot. |

I appreciate how OP threw AHC under the bus but somehow forgot to mention where her DD goes to school. Nice.
|
| Does the school have an honor code? If so DD might bre breaking the honor code if she doesn’t report |
|
I would 100% report it to the school using an anonymous email and would include names if you are absolutely sure who was involved. You can make a burner email for this purpose.
You will be helping those kids and others who may experiment as a result of them. |
That’s not really a thing. You can’t report things like that anonymously and expect anything to be done. You can ask that your identity be kept anonymous but the school is not going to confront its students on something so serious based on an email from a burner account. |
Not true. Schools aren't going to suspend a kid over an anonymous tip but they will definitely investigate. |
Same here. At a “so-called elite” boarding school. These kids likely aren’t doing coke because they are happy (I sure wasn’t). Try to bring it to the attention of school leaders. |
| I’m assuming you pay tuition? You absolutely report and absolutely not anonymously. Administration is not going to out you. If they’re not interested in addressing the drug problem in their school, and allowing the non-users to feel safe, I’m not sure you want to be there. FWIW, at my children’s private school administration and teachers absolutely are allowed in the bathrooms. They also - I believe - know who the “usual suspects” are. Of course, they cannot 100% prevent the drug use or the nicotine use. But it’s not acceptable. Especially with fentanyl showing up in coke and pills. Don’t shy away from this. |
| Which school, OP? We’ll report it for you. |
| A lot of drugs now are contaminated with fentanyl, making a deadly overdose much more likely today. Please report. Drug OD now the #1 cause of death for 18-35 yo in US! |
