Let's do it guys, let's take our fitness back this year. Let's be fit and strong and buff with awesome hearts, lungs, legs, and all!
Let's not talk about weight or food or diet or the scale, but support each other in taking our fitness back this year. What fitnessy thing did you do today, that was a challenge either physically or mentally? |
I love it, OP! I’m with you! I’m on the west coast and just got up, but so far I skipped sweetener in my coffee. By next NYE I want to look at myself and marvel at how much more fit I’ve become. Let’s do this! |
New job in 2022 meant my fitness took a toll. That, plus getting sick frequently (due to new job working with germy kids).
I hope to be able to run a nonstop 5k this year (not as just my "long run"), and ideally get back to running 5 straight miles. This morning I did 2.1 continuous, and 2.1 of intervals. It wasn't easy for me, but it was a beautiful morning! |
I’m on board!!!! |
I have all kinds of plans. Yet I’m sitting in bed sipping coffee and scrolling DCUM. |
It's gorgeous outside. Lace up and go outside, even if just for a walk. Go get out the door! |
Kicking off the new year with Yoga with Adriene’s Center program. Tomorrow will start Nourish move love’s Strong 20 strength program. I already work out with these ladies but I’m going to do a full program, not just choose what I feel like.
Also, more walking on these beautiful days and Dry January. |
It’s noon on New Years OP. I’m not even out of bed yet. |
I’m really out of shape and obese. Just trying to do 30 minutes of walking or swimming each day. I think if I can do this I will be in much better shape by this time next year. One day down! |
Great job! Keep it up! 💪 |
I’m here for this. It’s not a resolution, it’s prioritizing time for habits I used to have. Since kids it’s been so hard to take the time to take care of myself, and poor sleep really is a struggle.
I’m looking to run walk do yoga or lift most days, ideally 3 runs 2 lift or yoga days and the other 2 I don’t care. For me it’s always gone sleep leads to exercise leads to eating better. Really making a concerted effort to get back in a good groove. |
In 2022, I lost some weight and improved overall fitness a lot. This year, I want to continue towards my fitness goals, and continue doing it reasonably and sustainably and setting a healthy example for my kids.
These are my general wellness resolutions this year (pulled from Gretchen Rubin's Happier podcast and Laura Vanderkam's Tranquility by Tuesday) -- Go to the gym three times/week -- Go outside every day -- At least 7,500 steps/day* -- Get some movement in before 3:00 p.m. every day -- Participate in fun physical movement with my kids more (dance parties, trampoline, hikes, etc.) * my goal used to be 10k/day, but on days I was nowhere close, I wouldn't try. I think if my goal is 7,500, a lot of days I will be over, but on days I'm at 5 or 6,000, I'll make the effort to get to 7,500). |
Walked 3.5 miles at a rapid pace (for me). 50 push-ups and a lot of stretching. Re-committed to using My Fitness Pal for logging and various fitness challenges. I would like to lose 40 lbs this year; think that is quite realistic if I stay focused. |
Right here with you! I had a baby in late 2021 and went from having fitness as a big part of my life to not being able to figure out how a workout fits into my days. I finally feel like I have things at home and work in a good enough place to recommit and am eager to get back to some sort of routine this month. |
I took a 2.5 mile walk today after a few weeks of slacking off due to knee issues. Knees feel good and I’m ready for a more fitnessy 2023! |
