I always feel UTIsh--incomplete voiding and frequency--and my urogynecologist recommended pelvic floor therapy. Anyone else done this and did it work? Are urinary symptoms at middle age a thing?? |
I went once and the PVT gave me a list of exercises, after peeing myself 2x while running. I didn't continue because of covid/work demands. But I since worked better on my breathing/core and haven't had issues since.
I think it's a good idea to go and see one, as there is more than one reason for pelvic floor issues. |
following. It's definitely a menopause/post-menopause thing. Lack of estrogen reeks all sorts of havoc in the pelvic area, from vaginal atrophy (which leads to painful intercourse) to urinary urgency and incontinence.
I just got the estrogen ring, which is suppose to help, but I would like to do pelvic floor therapy also. |
I had similar symptoms to you and learned that one cause is my pelvic floor is actually too tight. I had 2 C Sections and it started happening after the second one…I also had some pain during sex, but mainly what you describe. I exercise a lot and that was exacerbating it. Try looking up stretches for releasing the pelvic floor. I do some videos I have found in YouTube and it really helps.I haven’t done therapy yet, but my mom did and it also made a huge difference for her. |
I went and it wasn't helpful for me personally. Weight loss ended up being the most helpful.

You may have 'biofilm'. I had constant UTI's with standard meds which only helped temporarily.
Consistently drinking more water definitely helps, but I didn't feel better until the underlying problem resolved. I tried Uqora; there are similar OTC products. |
There's a point where kegels won't cut it. See a specialist to decide the best solution. I had the surgery and so glad I did. |
