What I don’t get is how American Jews descended from the holocaust or Pogroms think this is ok.

American Jews are not descended from holocaust survivors, pogroms was on another continent in another century.
I have come to the conclusion that they do not see Palestinians as anything but a people to exploit

There are probably more American Jews with links to Holocaust than in Israel which is largely Mizrahi. The US is largely Ashkenazi. Isn’t Antony Blinken a descendant of Holocaust survivors ?

What have the Palestinians done to deserve to be treated like this?
So the ancient Israelites left, own fault. They should have judged the times better back in 2 millennia ago
Now that the western powers decided to displace an entire nation and let someone else have their homes and farms
But why do the people who displaced them and put them in open air prisons hate them so?
One would think that the people who displaced them should be somewhat thankful for the earlier folk for having looked after the land
There is a disconnect with humanity.

It's so difficult to understand. Israel was created by ethnically cleansing Palestinians, the rightful owners of the land and the true indigenous people. I don't agree with UN Resolution 181, and I'm sure the UN never expected it to be so brutally and ruthlessly implemented. The UN probably thought 181 meant Zionists would rule over Palestinians within the land as white South Africans ruled over Black South Africans, not that they would literally evict Palestinians and steal virtually everything they owned. To hate Palestinians after taking so much from them is, as you say, "a disconnect with humanity."

As a small illustration of what they lost, one Palestinian family was driven from their home and ordered to leave Palestine. As they later came to a checkpoint, they realized an IDF soldier was sitting at their dining room table and using it as a desk. The IDF quite literally and callously stole it. This encapsulates Israel's historical treatment of Palestinians. The idea is to take everything they have and then evict them. This continues to this day in the West Bank, and Jared, Daniella Weiss, and others have their beady eyes on the land in Gaza. This transactional and exploitative view of fellow human beings is astonishingly narcissistic.

Daniella Weiss is a racist ghoul. It's shocking that anyone would agree with her, but sadly many do.

Studies show people hate those they have wronged. Israelis must know that they stole the land from Palestinians and ethnically cleansed them. They must also be aware at some level that they have to dehumanize Palestinians to absolve themselves of racism. To justify what they have done, their minds need to play psychological tricks on them to convince themselves Palestinians are the bad guys. This explains why Israelis speak so contemptuously of Palestinians, as in, "No other country wants these people," and, "Palestinians never existed before 1948."

"Something from studies of cognitive dissonance to keep in mind when dealing with people expressing a lot of hatred. 'The more harm you cause, the more hate you feel.' (David McRaney, You Are Now Less Dumb) You’d think it would be the other way around, but this is just a trick of the psyche. Harm someone and the rational part of your brain will come up with a list of faults as long as you need it to be in order to feel justified."

"Not that hate-mongers themselves can see that the bile they feel toward others is their own brain’s invention. It’s a way of cocooning the offense, much the way a pustule keeps a splinter isolated. In this case, the splinter in their psyche that interferes with their view of themselves is the harm they cause others. Can’t let the psyche know that. Unfortunately, at some point the process turns into a negative feedback loop. The unreasoning hate when expressed causes more harm, and drives them further into hatred."

The ground war should have happened immediately after 10/7 like the day of while Hamas and hostages were still in transit.

The ove calculations and over thinking was a misstep

Why? It was never about the hostages. Israel is just using the hostages to continue its genocide. Israel wants all the hostages dead.

Hamas is selling our MREs that the US parachuted in for free meals to the population.

There are a lot of youtubes produced by Gazans that they don't like the quality of the food in the MREs and don't like the fact that they had to pay for the MREs from Hamas.

I'm pretty sure everyone is aware Hamas is evil at this point in time. The presence of the MRE's is designed to prevent a massive loss of life - either by getting food to those who need it or, at minimum, drive the price of food down low enough to be generally accessible.

I am so so sick of this 80 years of wars that have sucked in , not just Palestinians but Lebanese, Syrians, Iraqis, Kurds- especially since 1967. What a tremendous waste of human capital, human lives, money and soldiers in arms. Obscene.

For real peace in the Middle East, the USA needs to but the heck out- for good.

1967, that was when Egypt, Syria, Jordan, announced they were going to eliminate the Jew from the face of the Earth, and this is the fault of the US.

? I think you need to read up on history here. The ME wars have never been about “eliminating Jews from the face of the Earth”. That was Germany’s goal in the 1930s. The ME conflicts were land disputes. Surprise, surprise, the Palestinians did not like being kicked off their family property and other countries rose to their defense. At this point there is acceptance to revert to the 67 borders. Israel is the one standing in the way of peace and creating a man made famine / displacement of an entire population. So so sad. And immoral.

If they reverted to 67 borders, then Arabs would start fighting and demand new rollback. The goal is elimination of Israel and Jews revert to living under Muslim rule.

5 months into Netanyahus extermination of the Palestinians the whole world sees the truth that the bolded is a straw man false narrative.

First off, Arafat shook Rabin's hand on the White House lawn in 1993 and officially recognized Israel within the '67 borders.

The Palestinian's mistake was that they trusted Clinton that this was fair dealing when, in fact, no Israeli Admin ( Labor or Likud) since anything on the ground to move towards 2 states. In fact, they did the opposite- added 500,000 more Americans from Phila., NJ, New York + Russians to West Bank, diverted the water resources away from Palestinians, put them under prison like cyber surveillance and ongoing Settler attack- a " facts on the ground" betrayal of the Peace aggreement by Israel.

Israel doesn't want peace with the Palestinians, it wants to dominate them, oppress them into attrition and ultimately exterminate the ones who don't emigrate.

And the US Gov't knows this full well and has been assisting them with Arms, $$$$ for illegal settlements, media propaganda ( CNN, Fox, NYT) for DECADES to achieve this.

Fact is the IDF isn't really fighting HAMAS in Gaza, the IDF has withdrawn pretty much all of its troops from Gaza. The tactic for the last 2 months in looooong , slow scatter bombing while enforcing starvation and disease to exterminate 2 million people- who happen to be their cousins, the Palestinians.

It has nothing to do with HAMAS' actions on 10/7. That is just the excuse. An attack that was as bad as it was because Netanyahu LET it happen- let that sink in- to achieve public support for his long dreamed for slaughter of the Palestinian people.

Just listen to him in this 1970's interview- decades before HAMAS or Hezbollah or ISIS or even the Iraq war:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1c-DSZ_l9Q

quote " there is no Palestinian people" " there are many Arab nations surrounding Israel, they can go live there" - Neyanyahu, 1978

Nothing to do with Oct 7th people. And he is using OUR tax dollars and our International reputation to kill millions

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is absolutely catastrophic and, according to Anthony Blinken, the worst in the world. Blinken reported that 100% of people in Gaza require humanitarian aid, compared to 80% in Sudan and 70% in Afghanistan. He said that the entire population is "at severe levels of acute food insecurity," and that this is the first time 100% of the population of a country has been classified in this way.

While people are starving, Netanyahu is blocking ceasefire talks, in part over whether the Palestinian Authority will govern Gaza after this war.

Volker Türk, the UN human rights chief, blames Israel for the mass starvation and warns it may amount to a war crime.

"at severe levels of acute food insecurity = starvation? Wonder what a holocaust survivors would say about this genocide?

I wonder how many hostages Israel has killed at this point. Those that survive the bombing must be suffering the same starvation and restricted access to medical care that the Palestinians in Gaza are enduring. If Israel truly cared about their survival, it could have negotiated their release early in this process.

Why would the occurrence of a different genocide in any way trivialize or justify THIS genocide? We know Gazans are dying of starvation and that many babies born to undernourished mothers have such low birthweight that they have been unable to survive.

Please. Israel has said they have destroyed Hamas except in one small enclave. Yet you tell us that Hamas is in control of all of Gaza. Hamas is walking by IDF troops who shoot any civilians on sight but ignore armed Hamas militants selling MRE?

The US has dropped 38,000 MRE in to a population of 2.3 million starving people. Now you tell us there are YouTube videos of Gazans saying they don’t like MRE’s. Remember Gaza has been without power for over 6 months. Those MREs would consume within minutes of landing.

You are full of sh#t.

I would hope a holocaust survivor would speak up against using starvation as a weapon of war. I would hope the person would not make it about themselves and claim that starving children is now acceptable because they were once starved.
