Anyone else with gift disappointment?

Trying to just be grateful but feeling it this morning. Anyone else?

Because you didn’t like your gift? How old are you?

We’re already sad at 8:15?

What was the gift? Don't leave us hanging.

I was wondering how long it would take for this type of thread.

I got my spouse 1 thing. It's practical and not a surprise. Are you my spouse?

I bought myself a couple of small things I would have asked for as gifts in the past week (we don’t ask for expensive gifts in our family). This way, I know I got what I was hoping for and have something to look forward to using tonight. Recommend.

This is a great idea.

DH got me a handful of extraordinarily domestic, unsexy presents (think along the lines of toothbrush and cooking gadget) and I just want him to send this stuff back. My moms “gifts” were obviously regifted - an old tea towel and placemats that were hers, and a three pack of “flavored” olive oil.

Next year just saying let’s get gifts for the kids and leave it at that.

At 45, I have everything I could want and can't imagine a scenario when I wake up on Christmas sad about gifts I got. How childish.

Nope - I’m delighted that my 13 and 11 year olds are still little enough that they woke us at 7 to open presents, and I’m thrilled to have gotten the new cutting boards I asked for. Ours were so old and scratched up.

I’m a single mom and DS just got me a token gift, but wrote a really sweet card. It makes me happy that he thought of me at all, for years I didn’t get anything. I have zero expectations at Christmas.
