What were your primary symptoms? Did your discharge change during the month?

Insomnia, severe depression, a lot of autonomic features with day one of period; shortened literal phase, hair loss. Other than that, total picnic!

Well, I get dizzy spells, nausea, cold sweats, hot sweats, fever blisters, difficulty breathing, difficulty swallowing, blurred vision, involuntary trembling, dead hands, numb lips, fingernail sensitivity, pelvic discomfort.

Looking back, my main symptom was insomnia for several years. Also, I had very heavy periods during those years, but I always had heavy periods so it didn't seem too abnormal for me. At 51, I skipped a couple of periods, and then they stopped. No hot flashes or other typical issues.

My whole life I’ve been a black coffee drinker. The stronger the better. And love really spicy food.

But since I’ve turned 50 I can’t stand very bitter or spicy. I’ve started putting cream in my coffee and am contemplating just switching to tea. What is happening? (Honestly, up to this point I would have described my PERSONALITY as “black coffee.” I drank so much of it). Are changes in taste preferences a perimenopause thing? Or just a general getting old thing? I don’t get heartburn. I just don’t like the flavor anymore.

Having periods every 3 weeks or even 2.5 weeks. Cystic acne.

Heavy periods, hot flashes and anxiety symptoms during a hot flash, brain fog, can't focus as well. I went to my PCP this weeks asking for HRT and she very reluctantly prescribed it. She is worried about the risk of breast cancer and wanted to try a blood pressure medication (clonidine) first that's she says is effective at reducing hot flashes. I'm really struggling with my symptoms and begged for HRT. It wasn't an easy decision.

Yes and also spotting 1-2 days before period starts. The night sweats and insomnia are next level.

Yes please do. I have read that the connection to cancer has been debunked. They are prescribing it in Europe.
