Man killed woman as ‘Satanic sacrifice,’ court documents say

SHELBY COUNTY, Texas (KTRE/Gray News) - The mother of a 26-year-old man accused of murdering a 36-year-old woman claims her son did so as a “Satanic sacrifice.” As the investigator waited for the search warrant, the affidavit said Myers’ mother arrived at the sheriff’s office and said she spoke to her son, who told her he was hiding in the woods. She also reportedly said Myers told her Hopson “wanted him to sacrifice her,” which he said he then did. The affidavit said Myers’ son “hears voices and is Satanic.” During a formal search of the house, investigators saw that Hopson had large wounds on the side of her head and forehead and that certain parts of her body had been dismembered. The affidavit stated Myers' mother later told the sheriff's office Sunday evening her son was hiding in the woods because he didn't want to go back to jail. She told law enforcement Myers told her that Hopson wanted him to "sacrifice her." He said he did sacrifice Hopson. A deputy found Hopson's toes, fingers and both ears had been cut off. Her toes, fingers and ears were found in a clear freezer bag between her legs, the affidavit detailed. Price and Louviere have also been charged with tampering/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair (human corpse), according to jail records. Two more pleaded were charged in this case- they were in on it also. Another man and a woman. |
