Since the hearing I have listened to many survivors of sexual assault. Many were total strangers who told me their heart-wrenching stories for the first time in their lives. Some were friends that I had known for decades, yet with the exception of one woman who had confided in me years ago, I had no idea that they had been the victims of sexual attacks. I am grateful for their courage and their willingness to come forward, and I hope that in heightening public awareness, they have also lightened the burden that they have been quietly bearing for so many years.

To them I pledge to do all that I can to ensure that their daughters and granddaughters never share their experiences.

Pretty sure your vote today ensures that. No woman will be coming forward anytime soon -- because even you won't believe them.

Okay, you are clearly misinterpreting her remarks. She is talking about the next generation not being victims of sexual assault, like their parents and grandparents.

I can’t believe that people don’t understand this.

I just pledged $50 to her future opponent, assuming she runs again. It was cathartic. The total is currently above $2.2 mil, aiming for $4 mil.

Look at all the money that was showered upon Hillary’s campaign. Look at the polls that declared her the next president, even that November.

Donald Trump is the president of the United States. Brett Kavanaugh is the newest SC justice. That’s just how it is.

NO means NO. No, your candidate didn’t win the presidency. No, your witch hunt didn’t work. See how no means no?

It’s $2.333 million now. I’m happy to provide updates.

So the 700,000 residents of DC get absolutely no say in the SCOTUS seat while the (fewer than) 600,000 residents of Wyoming get two votes.

Time to get DC statehood, folks. This is something we need to do. Imagine if DC residents actually got a say in how this country is run, instead of having senators from thousands of miles away having a say in how our city is run.

NP here. Doesn’t mean we are going to just lay down and take your minority tyranny. Because that’s what it is. Your senate that represents 44% of the population and your president that lost the popular vote. Yes, I understand those are the rules of the game, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t going try our hardest to resist you.

and then she said VERBATIM:

"I will do everything in my power to ensure that their daughters and granddaughters never share the same stories."

Well, she's certainly doing that. After today, no woman will come forward and share her story of sexual assault unless it was videotaped in front of a a couple hundred witnesses and happened while she was stone cold sober and screaming for dear life.

Although, even then, we can never be truly sure...

I don't say this to be mean. I say it as an observation. She has no children. You don't need to have children to be empathetic to those who have daughters and granddaughters but you do need to have empathy. She has never struck me as someone with a lot of empathy. Her family are Republicans in Maine who inherited and ran a thriving lumber business in Caribou Maine. She grew up privileged for that area of Maine. She was in Nelly Olsen's position from Little House on the Prairie. She has had a pretty charmed life in many ways and this is what you see in her behavior. She relates to these privileged old men. She grew up around old Republican men and is quite comfortable with the status quo. She is a woman who was accepted by the boys and the woman who see a problem with the way the boys club runs are, in her eyes, the problem.

Jeff Sessions is her good friend. A man who supported putting children in cages and ripping them from their parents arms. This is who she chooses to to be friends with. He lied under oath more than once about Russia and she was okay with that. Why should we be surprised that she's okay that Brett at the very least lied when he portrayed himself as a perfect, chaste, choir boy. You are known by the company you keep. Susan supports men who implement mean, inhumane policies which speaks volumes. No one should be surprised by her vote. She loves guys like Brett. She does not seem to be very empathetic to anyone who didn't grow up in the privileged political circles she did. To borrow the phrase from Melania's jacket she "really doesn't care, do you?" In her speech today she said "On average, an estimated 211,000 rapes and sexual assaults go unreported every year." Then she went on to criticize Dr. Ford for not haviong corroborating evidence for a sexual assault she was afraid to report. She is pathetic. I only wish that I could meet her and say these things to her directly. I used to work on the Hill and members tend to surround themselves with staff that fawn all over them and do not challenge them to see things another way.

Susan Collins went along with Mitch McConnell on Merrick Garland. Every Republican who went along with that helped ruin the Supreme Court. It would have been more honest to have hearings and vote him down. If she, Jeff Flake, Joe Manchin or any "swing vote" had taken a stand and said I will refuse to vote yes on any future nominees if you do not hold hearings and give Merrick Garland a chance at an up or down vote, we would not be here today. Garland might not be on the S Ct. but I don't think things would be as broken as they are today. These Senators will be remembered for breaking our government. I am an attorney. I have seen far too much injustice in our legal system. In court rooms across the country white collar men like Judge Kavanaugh are excused for unethical, biased, or inapproriate behavior. Women, working class people, and racial and religious minorities do not tend to fair as well. I always, however, held out hope that the S. Ct. was there as the back stop ensuring a fair hearing and a thoughtful decision. I don't feel that way any more. The Bullies and cheaters from your high school are running the country and I am not even sure at this point if we can be assured of the integrity of the vote. We have not protected and cherished our Constitution. Enough of us have not shown up to fight for it over the years and so we have been gerry mandered to the terrible situation we are in today.

Today Susan Collins gave the benefit of the doubt to Brett Kavanaugh instead of to the United States Supreme Court and the belief that all Americans should have that should they find themselves before the highest court in our land that havinga D next to their name will not be held against them.

Do you know what really burns my ass--their senate that represents 44% of the population and makes us pay taxes to support them. A large part of that population live in taker states. They suck money out of the treasury while railing about welfare and socialism. They are the ones taking welfare and bailouts.

And this is likely why we are headed to a Civil War. Seriously.

He was a Kennedy clerk and knew most of them. They’ll be cordial and collegial except for Ginsburg who misplayed her hand and should have left in Obama’s second term. Now she is stuck

Oh, we get what she was trying to say, but it was just another way she embarrassed herself. By not taking these allegations seriously, she is sending a message that women shouldn't bother coming forward in the future because they won't be taken seriously either. Nice words don't make up for that.

Your terminology is misused. It is not a criminal trial with witnesses.

McConnell would have held that seat too.
