Will the GOP stop whining about CRT, transgender people, wokeism, and covid moms?

Anonymous
We've been reliably told by Republicans for the past year or two that the Dems should expect to be completely wiped out because:

1. Dems hate America and are pushing critical race theory in schools;
2. Dems have a transgender agenda and want children to have top/bottom surgery and for boys to play on girls teams;
3. Dems are too woke and they will be punished for their wokeism by everyone;
4. Moms everywhere are angry about covid restrictions and Dems will be punished.

However, Dems have not been wiped off the map and the major candidates pushing these narratives did not win.

Do you think the GOP will have a 'come to Jesus' moment and stop whining about these things after their candidates were not perceived as patriots but instead regarded as losers? Or do you think they will continue trying to peddle issues that no one is interested in buying?

I think now that they know they need to stop talking about abortion they will double down on the transgender/gay groomer thing.

Tudor Dixon, the failed Michigan governor nominee, went all in on anti-trans. One of her big final campaign rallies was having a girl on the Pennsylvania swim team that trans athlete was on, talking about how her swim career was ruined or something. Tudor lost by over 10 pts.

That’s good to hear. I certainly hope I’m wrong.

They can double down all they like but a growing portion of the electorate sees it for the projection it is.

It will. Just like how illegal immigrants and those caravans became less of a thing after previous elections.

Well, the Rs have no actual policies to talk about, so fear is basically the only thing they’ve got

They will double down. This nonsense wins in some states (cough Florida cough), so they will keep going

+1 they will double down. They learned that abortion is a third rail and I don’t think we are going to see a lot of those “protected from conception” or bans at 6 weeks very much, but culture wars work great, immigration, trans and lgtb issues, drag queen brunches, kids’ indoctrination, parents’ rights to control education and so on are winners, see De Santis and Younkins. The only real polices of the GOP is more tax cuts for the mega rich, increasing debt, cutting regulations that protect the public, all-in on coal and oil, cutting services, “privatizing” social security snd Medicare (remember Paul Ryan “ instead of Medicare let’s give elderly people vouchers and then let have insurances fight for their business”- yes because insurances are going to fight tooth and nail to insure an elderly and sick person) . These policies are not very popular even with republicans. They will double down. The trick is stay away from trump’s style verbal excesses and saying same things but politely, like the governor or Virginia

+1

It's doesn't cost much to talk about all of those topics. Meanwhile you project a look of normalcy so that moderates can vote for you without people labeling them as Qanon. The lessons of Youngkin are not dead yet.

I don't think that is why they picked up fewer seats than expected. They ran some really crappy candidates.

Tennessee just filed a bill to ban drag brunches so no, they haven’t learned any lessons.

No, we will start having caravans, border crisis, indoctrination, crime in our cities, the horrible communist radical dem agenda on 24/7 for the next two years.

Meanwhile in reality, job growth will continue, inflation will subside, Ukraine will defeat Russia and normalcy will return.

The only thing holding the US back is the radical right propaganda that is dividing our country.

The RW picked up school board seats in several areas. Which will prove to be a curse to some of the CRT and grooming messaging. They’re the accountable ones now. And we’ve seen how that’s been going for them in Spotsylvania.

Much like with abortion, they may be the dog that caught the car.
