Given that we now have many more informed, courageous people speaking the truth about Israel, it must be hard for you hasbara types to keep up!

This is disgusting, and the IDF needs to be held accountable: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/3/18/al-jazeera-journalist-beaten-arrested-by-israeli-forces-from-gaza-hospital

Another journalist, Ismail al-Ghoul, has been abducted, in this case from Al-Shifa Hospital. The IDF barged into a media room, destroyed media equipment, and abducted journalists, who were put through the usual routine. They were stripped and blindfolded, and their hands were tied. The journalists were then severely beaten, and the IDF fired shots into the ground to scare them. Ismail al-Ghoul was obviously not of interest to them, because he was released after 12 hours of illegal abduction and torture. This story has been told again and again.

In what world can a supposedly professional army be allowed to behave like this? There must be some international accountability.

10/ To clarify: al-Ghoul's prior TikTok, X, and Instagram accounts were deleted. We know this because the usernames of his new accounts on the platforms all end with the number 2.

It’s no small feat to erase much of someone's social media presence, create new profiles, and then amass hundreds of thousands of followers in just a few months, as seen with al-Ghoul.

The orchestrator of this psy-op invested considerable effort to conceal al-Ghoul’s connections to Hamas and his malevolent beliefs. They recognized the importance of meticulously shaping an image that aligns with the standards of “respected” news sources like Al Jazeera.

Ultimately, they transformed a Hamas operative into an ostensibly "legitimate" journalist, yet whose primary goal is to disseminate Hamas propaganda and demonize the State of Israel, whether through his reporting or now, by elevating his status to that of a martyr following his arrest.

Judging by the public response to al-Ghoul's arrest, it's evident that their strategy was wildly successful.

Or maybe the psy-op was orchestrated by Israel to cover up for its abduction and torture of this man. If he were truly a "Hamas operative," why would they have let him go after 12 hours? Obviously, if they had reason to hold him for longer, they would have done so. Additionally, why did they torture him, along with other journalists? Whatever he had or had not done, Israel committed a war crime by torturing him. We know the IDF has done this again and again. It abducts Palestinian men and then strips, handcuffs, and blindfolds them. It then beats and humiliates them and accuses them of being members of Hamas. Many released men have described the exact same scenario.

I have no idea why he was released.
And, how do you know he was tortured? Because Al Jazeera says so?
I totally understand stripping them. Don't want to be caught off guard with a suicide bomber or a weapon.
Do you know that he wasn't a member of Hamas?

Stop spreading crazy conspiracy theories. Don’t you see how much pain you and your anti-Semitic conspiracy theories are putting on Jewish people globally, who are still mourning our brothers and sisters lost on 10/7.

Al Jazeera is a media/propaganda arm of Hamas, this has been long established, and until they are shut down we all must acknowledge that anything written within their pages, especially topics regarding Israel and Israel’s war against genocide, should be considered to be false propaganda.

It's extremely unlikely he would have been released if he was genuinely suspected of anything. I think we can assume he was entirely innocent and that Israel was up to its usual tricks of intimidating and silencing journalists. There's a long history there. I'm sure there's a good reason the IDF destroyed the journalists' media equipment (there's a lot they don't want getting out to the outside world). Al-Ghoul himself said he was beaten in captivity. I believe him because this is standard operating procedure for the IDF, and I've heard from people I know and trust (such as the Palestinian poet, Mosab Abu Toha, who was also abducted and beated) that this happens. I've also seen video of IDF soldiers kicking and otherwise abusing naked, blindfolded men who have their hands tied. This is illegal under international law and needs to be investigated and punished.

I must point out that the X posts you share from someone called Eitan Fischberger are absurd. Is he seriously trying to justify the IDF's conduct? Even if the old Instagram account he found did belong to the person who was kidnapped by the IDF, there is nothing mentioned that falls outside the bounds of protected speech. For example, this Fischberger person appears to suggest that torture is justified because al-Ghoul (or the person he thinks is al-Ghoul) compared Israel to a virus. Seriously??? Every Palestinian has the right to be furious with Israel for stealing their land and ethnically cleansing them. Who does Fischberger think he is? The thought police?

Is this intended to be ironic and funny? If you're being serious, this is one of the most tone-deaf, racist, and entitled posts I've read in a long time. Do you seriously think you can silence people from reporting war crimes because it might upset "Jewish people globally"? Can't you see how narcissistic this is? Don't you think people globally are upset about the war crimes the IDF is perpetrating, Israel's historical injustices against Palestinians, and the fact that Israel is committing what many believe to be genocide? Why do you think there are so many anti-Israel protests all over the world. And spare me the "antisemitism" cheap shot. There's nothing antisemitic about hating what Israel is doing and has been doing to the Palestinians for decades. I'd feel the same way if the two groups were reversed.

I disagree that Al Jazeera is a propaganda outlet. I think it provides necessary, accurate, and pertinent information that counters Israel's false narratives. Israel hates the fact that truth-tellers exist, which is why it MURDERS so many journalists. Remember Shireen Abu Akleh? Remember the over 120 journalists killed in Gaza? How dare you suggest that Al Jazeera should be "shut down" and that "WE all must acknowledge" that they only produce propaganda. If you want to believe that, fine, but you do not speak for the rest of us or have the right to tell us what to think. Seriously, who the heck do you think you are?

Israel hates the fact that truth-tellers exist, which is why it MURDERS so many journalists. Remember Shireen Abu Akleh? Remember the over 120 journalists killed in Gaza? How dare you suggest that Al Jazeera should be "shut down" and that "WE all must acknowledge" that they only produce propaganda. If you want to believe that, fine, but you do not speak for the rest of us or have the right to tell us what to think. Seriously, who the heck do you think you are?

Oh come on. I’m not saying that Al Jazeera reporting false war crimes is upsetting Jewish people, and you know it.

I’m saying that spreading completely unsubstantiated, and highly anti-Semitic, conspiracy theories where there is some deep psych-op done by Israel planting highly credible evidence that a reporter for a known Hamas-affiliated “news” organization had previously spent much of his career working for - and strongly supporting - Hamas is deeply upsetting to Jewish people. Watching our ex-friends, neighbors, co-workers attacking the IDF as they struggle to protect their people while placing zero responsibility for the tragic state of Gaza on Hamas, despite the fact that Hamas is directly and solely responsible for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The war will only end once every single hostage is returned to Israel, and Hamas is completely gone in Gaza.

Yep. Everything else is just noise. The war ends once Hamas is destroyed and every hostage is returned and accounted for. There's nothing complicated about it.
